How to update modules in iniramfs fastly
I know dracut can update modules in initramfs, but I think it is too
slow. So I'm wondering what is the fastest way to update modules in
initramfs of CentOS 7?
Thanks!

`dracut` calls `mkinitrd` which rebuilds the initrd file. . . you could do
it manually but that is prone to errors (

NBDE, clevis and tang for non-root disk
...mage generated by
dracut -f does not include the /etc/crypttab from the OS (it only contains
the entry for the root device). Once I have manually added the other
volumes in the /etc/crypttab file from the initramfs image, clevis is able
to decrypt all volumes.
Now the question is why the generated iniramfs image has a different
/etc/crypttab. How can I specify /etc/crypttab for the initramfs so that
furhter kernel updates will not replace it with the wrong file?

Sorry, I think you misunderstood. The key for root is *not* in
/etc/crypttab - that's only for the secondary ones....

Newbie Question
Hello,
I'm attempting to convert some of my existing initrd images to the
new initramfs format. However, I have some questions as too what
exactly /init in a iniramfs system is responsible for? My current
images probe/configure devices using devfs and libkudzu (basically, the
same as knoppix detection setup) and create a tmpramfs root for use with
pivot_root. However, looking thru prepare_namespace, it appears that MD
arrays need to be detected/fired up a...

guestfish: error creating prepared disk image 'fs:xfs' on 'test1.img': failed to create filesystem (xfs): mkfs: xfs: /dev/sda1: mkfs.xfs: No such file or directory
does I need to rebuild the iniramfs to include mkfs.xfs, is this the root reason that cause the different numbers ?
then I used virt-rescure method , the filesystem type was ext2/ext3:
