please help: problems using 'force group' option
hi all,
I have a linux box running redhat 8.0 with samba 2.2.7 into a ms network
I would like to control the access to the shared files, so only allowed groups of users can modify/create files
I use 'force group' option to ensure that created files has the same owner group so all users of that group can modify these files (but not others users not belonging to that group)

I would like (temporally) log which files are open in the samba server (I know that this will generate a big log file)

cannot connect to windows share from linux

I would like to connect from linux box to a windows 2000 share
I try the command:
smbmount //10.2.20.43/share mnt -o username=USER workgroup=DOMAIN
and the answer is:

I am configuring a samba server version 2.2.7-security-rollup-fix, under redhat 8.0
I would like to configure which user have access to the home directory and which not
the smb.conf home configuration is:

where homeusr group is the group
