PLS regression on near infrared (NIR) spectra data
Dear collegues, I´ ve worked with near infrared (NIR) spectroscopy to assess chemical, physical, mechanical and anatomical properties of wood. I use "The Unscrambler" software to correlate the matrix of dependent variables (Y) with the matrix of spectral data (X) and I would like to migrate to R. The matrix of spectral variables is...

Simple network diagram
Hello, I'm trying to create a simple network diagram like that on http://www.pauck.de/marco/photo/infrared/comparison_of_films/diagram3.gif. Unfortunately I've not yet found any function that could do this. I think this should not be a difficult task since I only need two vectors and perhaps the names of the dimensions as data source. Could somebody help me please? Greetings, -Rainer

Gasoline Data in pls package
Hi - I am using pls package for some pcr computations. There is a data set called gasoline. Would someone be able to tell me what command(s) could be used to produce this graph in R? I am not sure where the log(1/R) - Y-axis - are coming from Thanks much Ravi

[Newbie] Row-Iterator for data.frame??
hello all, for my diploma-thesis i want to statitically analyze near-infrared-spectra. a spectrum is given by the y-values of 1038 equi-distant x-points. in nature, a spectrum is a continuous curve. for analysis, every x-point is seen as a statistical variable. now my problem: first, i read a csv-table in a data.frame called sTable via read.table. besides some meta-data...

The most important changes since 1.01 are (1) a more efficient implementation of the penalized PLS algorithm that decreases the run-time substantially, (2) the inclusion of the data set "cookie" that contains measurements from quantitative near-infrared spectroscopy. Twin HDMI
Hello, I have an Intel NUC7PJYH running CentOS 6.8. This is a NUC with standard USB, 1GbE and 2*HDMI. Installation was no problem providing acpi=off. The problem is that by default the two displays are mirrored and I can?t seem to separate them. I can only see one HDMI port from CentOS. I need to see both HDMI ports discreetly. Can you please help. Regards, Mark Woolfson MW Consultancy Ltd
