smbfs: patch for directory listing
Hello everyone I have recently reported problems reading a certain directory from an NT server on this list (and speculated in causes). I have a few workarounds and now I'm looking for some feedback on what the proper fix is and for people to test if my patch works for them. Please test smbfs with and without the patch on the directory in this zipfile (all files are empty):

STATUS_INVALID_PARAMETER for printer trying to connect to smb share
I have a kyocera TA-205C printer that is can scan to pdf and place the file on a smb share. I have a user on my domain (PCEDOM\printers) that can login and access the share. I tested it out with smbclient and was able to create a file where the printer is supposed to be able to put the file. The printer gave a very unhelpful error message, so I did a packet capture to find the error. (see

Constant error messages about failure to remove oplock
Hi All, Need your help/inputs on what could be the probable cause/how to debug this further. We are using samba-4.0.25 & expose a share that has oplocks enabled & no kernel-oplocks set. We constantly see these messages in samba logs [2015/06/25 03:05:30.593150, 0, pid=1581, class=locking] ../source3/smbd/oplock_linux.c:184(linux_release_kernel_oplock) linux_release_kernel_oplock:

This backs out a lot of desired changes. For example I think that 'rm -rf' on large directories will no longer work if you apply

Windows 10 client opens a folder as a file and asks for SMB2 GetInfo SMB2_FILE_STREAM_INFO
Hi: We use 4.9.4 based samba in our product and one of our customers is running into a strange issue. If they right click on a folder and get the properties, it reports incorrect size information. When we looked at the network trace, we see that the client is walking the tree and getting information about files and folders.. Suddenly out of the blue, it opens a folder (which it had previous opened

Using NetWkstaGetInfo / NetWkstaUserEnum with samba server
Hi, I'm trying to get a Linux machine set up so that it will respond to NetWkstaGetInfo and/or NetWkstaUserEnum NetAPI requests from a Windows machine. I have samba configured and working to authenticate in the Windows domain with smb, nmb and winbind daemons running, and can browse shares on that machine from a Window PC, authenticating as either the domain administrator or a domain user.
