In that case, we might as well to use
vb->inflate_pfns = kmalloc(VIRTIO_BALLOON_ARRAY_PFNS_MAX..);
vb->deflate_pfns = kmalloc(VIRTIO_BALLOON_ARRAY_PFNS_MAX..);
which are allocated in probe().
