AD, ACLs on LDAP objects not replicated?
Hi all, Playing with delegation today we delegated rights to some user on some OU and its contents for it can modify users inside that OU and children. We used "advanced view" in ADUC then "properties" on our delegated OU, then "security" tab, and finally we gave rights to our user. Perhaps this process is not correct but we believe it is a valid process to delegate

AR object return nil on save
Hi! I''m upgrading existing app from Rails 1.2.6 to 2.1.2. I have encountered following problem with AR objects. Model definition did not change and with 1.2.6: params={} params[:flight] = "1111" params[:airline] = "Air France" params[:luggage] = 0 r=Reservation.new params r.save is working code, new Reservation. With the same dataset, changing only

Basically i am wondering how to call ffmpeg in rails so i can read video files in order to get their properties? some help with functional testing of nested routes
...ategories/:category_id/products/ product [:category_id, :id, :action, :controller] {:action=>"show", :controller=>"products"} {:method=>:get} /categories/:category_id/products/:id/ Im not sure how to adjust the tests to ensure that they are supplying the category infirmation needed. The extent on my testing knowledge was to add the nam to the product post to ensure that the name requqired validation succeeded. Im just trying to start testing so if you have a description of why, for my understanding, that would be fantastic ! thanks in advance. -- Posted via ht...

website project assessement - how hard/easy would this be?
hello, I have a website project pending and i hesitate between using ruby on rails or a CMS like joomla for it. Therefore, i welcome your insights to assess of how much work would be needed using RoR and if it is a better choice than using the CMS. ...Instead of talking a lot, let me present what the website should exactly do. ;) Basically, the website is intended to be a sort of vault for free

Abysmal sparse file performance!
I have a 5.5GB file, mostly sparse. Tar performs far[!] better than rsync. I have no ideas yet, so just an FYI as to current state. FreeBSD 8.1 i386 zfs Yes, I know the blocks used differs but don't know why yet, could be just how zfs does things or related to the large amount of sparseness. There are no media errors, CPU/IO load or anything like that and the source and dest paths are on the

Rsync spawning a child process when pulling files ?
Hi, I am using rsync 3.0.4 on a WinXP machine (with CygWin) to synchronize my files to a RedHat Linux server. Everything is working perfectly, but there is one thing I do not understand. Apparently there is a difference in pushing and pulling files with rsync. When I push my files to the server with this command, I see one rsync process on my WinXP machine, just as expected rsync -rlt -e

[PATCH v15 23/26] sched: early boot clock
(added various kvm/virtualization lists in Cc as well as qemu as I don't know who's "wrong" here) Pavel Tatashin wrote on Thu, Jul 19, 2018: > Allow sched_clock() to be used before schec_clock_init() is called. > This provides with a way to get early boot timestamps on machines with > unstable clocks. Rebuilding PHP: how do I manage updates?
Hi, Our public library management software (PMB) runs on Apache/PHP/MySQL. It requires some additional PHP modules to run correctly, namely: 1) php-gd 2) php-yaz 3) php-xslt I've googled and fiddled around quite a bit, and come to the following conclusions: 1) php-gd can be installed from extra repos (rpmforge IIRC), so this one's no problem. 2) To install php-yaz, I have to
