Ringinbacktone even without 'r', and inexistant codec
I am trying to make an Inalp Smartnode 1200 (SIP-to-ISDN gateway) work with Asterisk. It works ... Partially. We are using the Inalp to connect ISDN phones, it basically acts like an ISDN ATA. First of all, when I make a SIP call to the unit with a simple Dial() command (no "r", so Asterisk shouldn't generate its ringback tone) I hear Asterisk's ringback tone anyway (I'm

Inexistant file displayed by samba
Hello, Running 3.2.0, and in one of my share, a file named TABAFK~V appeared, but is not present on the underlying filesystem. The file can't be removed from a windows client (even a member of domain admins). Not that it is distrubing, but you know... Fran?ois

Change idle timeout

Is the some way, other than changing IDLE_CLOSED_TIMEOUT, or (in Samba 3.0.23) commenting the check that closes the TCP connection if there is no connections active and a timeout bigger than IDLE_CLOSED_TIMEOUT, to keep the TCP connections opened, despite the inexistence of open pipes or connections? Help with Oh323
...-make.patch it hangs for ever and never finishes in my machine with Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3, fully updated. I need to use Asterisk HEAD and I therefore I want to use asterisk-oh323-0.7.2-pre1. Additionally, because it is the most debugged version. In the past, if I send an Oh323 call to an inexistent or dead IP address, the Dial functions hangs and the * does not allow the customer to disconnect, which made me lose a good client for my pre-paid app. Any help from the Oh323 gurus is appreciated. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Plot Means Line with Standard Deviation as "Whiskers"
...point, it’s standard deviation (once each point will have tree replicates) as whiskers. Another problem will be that all the points should exist for each transect, but we know that six of the nine transects will have blanks (A1, A2, A3, -, A5). So the line have to be interrupted and can’t induce an inexistent value by link A3 to A5 (an example). Well, unfortunately I still don’t have the data, I’m just anticipating a future situation, and I can’t find any clear suggestion by “googling” the issue, and I guess the help files may have something but I was unable to find by myself. Thanks in advan...

SIP and ECHO
Hello, I have read the information on echo and SIP in the FAQ and I have scoured the mailing list for possible solutions, but as yet I have not been able to get rid of this echo. I have a Sip phone, Digium 4 Port FXS, and 3 Digium FXO cards installed into an asterisk server. If I call between the Sip Phone (Budgettone-100) and the 4 FXS ports everything sounds great. If I call out to the PSTN

What do you think about commercial applications for Rails?
Hello all, I''m a RoR fan. I''ve read some RoR books, and I''m starting to use RoR for commercial proyects. As I use RoR more and more, I think about inexistent tools that would be great to have when developing applications in RoR. For example: an IDE with more features than RadRails. So then I think "hey! you could produce one of these tools". Some of these tools, I believe, would be really great for improving efficiency while developing RoR...

Icecast 2: planned stuff.

I had a look at connection.c and i guess such a thing would be possible to do by sending raw xml server information rather than html and by incuding a way to handle get or post variables (i still don't understand a lot of this code so i may say stupid thing ;) ). Documentation is still inexistant. I would be pleased to spend some of my time contributing to it. How to apply ? Have a nice day. R: Re: courtesy message calling mobile phones
Calling any unreachable mobile from Fastweb or Telecom PSTN I don't get any courtesy message. The same happens when calling an inexistent number. I'm configuring two PBX's, connected to two different phone lines, both behave this way. Perhaps there's some missing zapata parameter? How to distinguish between UNEXISTENT channels v/s UNAVAILABLE channels
Is there a way to distinguish, in the answer of the Dial command, when a channel is not available (for example, an unregistered but valid SIP user) v/s when the dialed channel is inexistent, even when it matches an extension? For example, I've the following simple dial plan: exten => _XX,1,Dial(SIP/${EXTEN},10,) exten => _XX,2,GotoIf(DIALSTATUS = CHANUNAVAIL?4:3) exten => _XX,3,VoiceMail(u${EXTEN}@default) exten => _XX,4,Hangup() exten => _XX,102,VoiceMail(b${E...

SMS /w Asterisk
Hi all, I'm looking into being able to send/receive SMS messages with my asterisk box in the US. I've seen the SMS command as well as the Kannel program. I'd prefer to do it from Asterisk. I've tried something like: exten => 999,n,sms(15551234567,s,"This is a test") in my dialplan, but when this runs, it dials the phone number and then nothing. What am I
