I assumed the keys not working would be specific to my straight-booting wish, but playing around with the suggestions that you provided, I see it's indeed more gen...

from [CentOS] CentOS 5.4? anyone? > Is that a big problem for the people who write the code and have every > revision preserved for posterity (and for others to learn from) in a > public revision control system? > I'm not sure that I understand. Is there indeed such a public repository of the build scriptds / RPM specs used by CentOS? That would indeed be fascinating and useful to have a look at it. (I rebuilt libvirt from RedHat SRPM, just to test the some new virtualization feature of v5.4, and going through the process I kept wondering how the CentOS...

Indeed, unsubscribed E-mail address wait for human approval before they go to all of us, the mailinglist subscribers. I do my best to keep the moderation delay short. That means that an even only slightly syslinux (or tftp-hpa) related message gets granted to get through. My critiria for "only sligh...

x-table package
Dear Sirs, I would like to propose a (I believe) simple but useful enhancement to the xtable package. The latest version of the xtable package doesn't accept "H" as a possible table.placement argument. Indeed, the "H" placement would be very useful if one wanted to use the float latex package. I guess that many users would be very happy of having this further possibility when using xtable! Would it be possible to implement this change in a future version of xtable? Thank you for you...

type traits bug in clang 4.0.0?
...found this strange behavior, when inspecting some legacy build that did not compile after an upgrade of several libraries and clang: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/44846377/what-is-the-reason-behind-instable-type-traits I got no conclusive answer, but a comment that indicates that this might indeed be a bug in clang. Since I am neither a C++ expert nor familiar with clang, I would very much appreciate if some expert could: 1. verify that this is indeed a bug 2. help me to formulate this as a constructive report (i.e. what is actually going wrong here w.r.t. the C++ standard) and/or further r...

What is /etc/subuid ?
...to it: [username]:100000:65536 Nothing like that was happening before. This is first time I create account after update done on Oct 3, 2019. I checked several CentOS 7 machines, basically doing this: # grep subuid /usr/sbin/useradd Binary file /usr/sbin/useradd matches And CentOS 7 machines indeed may have that file name in the useradd binary. None of CentOS 6 machines has that. I tried to do FreeBSD-ism: man /etc/subuid came empty, and realized that I'm doing FreeBSD-ism. I tried to do search on the web (did not "google", I use duckduckgo... so I "did search"),...

...es of having a loop where nlme > goes through many models. > Thank you in advance for any help, Ramiro Dear Ramiro, as I thought you are reporting a bug about R.utils withTimeout(), I and maybe others have not reacted. You've addressed this again in a non-public e-mail, and indeed the underlying bug is really in nlme which you do mention implicitly. I'm appending a version of your example that is not using R.utils at all and reproducible hangs for me with R 3.4.3, R 3.4.3 patched and R-devel (and almost surely earlier versions of R which I did not check. Indeed, the c...
