Samba warning message
Samba 4.8.9 FreeBSD 12.0-RELEASE-p3 / amd64 Since updating both FreeBSD and Samba, I have been getting the following screen pop-ups incessantly. They are always the same except for the time. IP 102.168.0.102 is a Win10 PRO / amd64 machine. I never received any warnings before updating. <quot> Mar 19 08:23:58 scorpio nmbd[11202]: [2019/03/19 08:23:58.049153, 0] ../source3/nmbd/nmbd_namequery.c:109(query_name_response)...

Am I nuts to attempt a VFS local cache module?
...ry 5. Have a background process that retrieves files from the cloud when the local store needs to be rebuilt. If Samba does any file access operations outside of interceptable VFS requests, then I guess I'm out of luck. The reasons I'm interested in doing this are: 1. Won't have to incessantly worry about disk size on  servers 2. Can rebuild servers seemlessly from cloud when local server is compromised. Is this idea wrong?  Has it already been done?  Is there a better alternative? Thanks, Mark

Smart-UPS staying in OB after power return
...Since we got the UPS, it has only been under testing without any load (I just plugged a 200W lamp in for fun). These issues have been persistent since the first time the new batteries were installed and the unit was powered up two days ago. My question remains: The on-line LED should not flash incessantly, and removing and restoring mains power should cause the UPS to switch to OB and then back to OL without intervention, correct? Thanks- John

Infuriating problems: no dial tone, dropped calls, no voice: 1.2.13 and 1.4.11
...39;s no native bridge). Reverting to 1.2.13 seems to have fixed this problem. (Is this some kind of sound path regression? Debug logging has shown nothing). 3. Finally, with 1.4.11 especially, the system seems to have been quite unstable, with asterisk crashing (and ringing every phone in the house incessantly- which my wife was NOT happy about), especially when two simultaneous calls overlap in some way (this hasn't crashed 1.2.13 as badly, but asterisk seemed to need a reset afterwards). I suspected a dodgy channel bank ( I had a really old eBay special for $20 which had timing problems from day 1...

csv file transfer with form_remote_tag?
...gestions to try send_file, but since I''m building my csv from a model and don''t want to save the file server-side, this won''t work. I also found http://www.ruby-forum.com/topic/111107, but I need the busy indicator so user''s don''t mash the save button incessantly. Is there any way at all to pop up my busy_indicator and still start the file download? Any help/advice would be greatly appreciated (especially if it''s quick...this is the last thing I need to fix before deploying the app:)). Thanks in advance! -Chris -- Posted via http://www.ruby-for...

[LLVMdev] Proposal: Improved regression test support for RuntimeDyld/MCJIT.
Hi Everyone, For your consideration: A proposal to improve regression test support for RuntimeDyld. Short version: We can make RuntimeDyld far more testable by adding a trivial pointer-expression language that allows us to describe how memory should look post-relocation. Jump down to "The Proposal" for details. Long version: Background: For those unfamiliar with it, RuntimeDyld a

Telephone Tree
Hi everyone, I'd like to use Asterisk to build a phonetree (www.phonetree.com) type of application, like this: 1. Read a text-based name/phonenumber file. 2. Call every number and play a recorded message. 3. If a beep is detected, replay the message from scratch (to leave messages on an answering machine). 4. Write results to a log file. Does anything like this exist already? Can this be

PPT text extracter
Hi, I've had a heads up from a user that catppt did not work at all on semi-recent PowerPoint files (ppt, not pptx). I checked, and indeed it misses most of the content on many files. After looking around, I found Python code from the libreoffice project which makes a nice ppt text extractor after adding a very thin command line wrapper:

Connection TDM400P to UK PSTN
I'm a complete Asterisk novice and have an installation based on the Asterisk@HomeCD. I've installed my TDM400P with 2 x FXO & 2 x FXS, but every time I try to dial out, I get a message "No circuits available". Can someone confirm the pinouts for connecting the FXO's to a UK BT Line - I have RJ11 connectors on the back of my TDM400P card, so ideally I'd like to

Stuck. Extenions.conf? Realtime? MySQL? Grrrrr!
Boy, am I stuck... I'm officially ready to toss Asterisk out the window. I have to admit it isn't necessarily all the fault of Asterisk either. It just seems that every option I turn to suddenly ends in failure. I don't know if it's me that's bitten of more than I can chew with this project, or maybe Asterisk just isn't mature enough yet. Nothing complicated really....

[LLVMdev] Proposal: Improved regression test support for RuntimeDyld/MCJIT.
Hi Dave, Jim Grosbach asked the same question, so you're in good company. With hindsight I think it was a mistake to say "FileCheck workflow". What I really meant was that this system plays well with lit. Not that your question about using FileCheck would have been any less valid. I did consider using FileCheck for this, but decided it was the wrong approach. The fundamental reason

The group name could not be found
Hey guys, It's me again. Today I moved our NAS from our old 2000 domain to a new domain presided over by two Samba 4.7.2 domain controllers. After the move I cant access the NAS at all from my Windows 7 test pc. I keep getting an error that "The group name could not be found" I am at the end of my troubleshooting skills. I also moved the NAS' samba from sernet-samba 4.1 to

You Will All Die In 1 Week (Mongrel To Require 1.8.6)
Hopefully that gets everyone''s attention. Evan Weaver has whined enough to make me do a release to change the requirements on the Mongrel gem so that it doesn''t need the cgi_multipart_eof_fix anymore. *************************** THIS ALSO MEANS THAT MONGREL WILL HAVE TO REQUIRE RUBY 1.8.6 OR GREATER!
