Xorcom T1 to PRI
Hi, I have a client that has a 24 channel voice T1 that I have been using e&m signalling over for a number of years. The local telco finally got an ISDN switch and wants to move them to PRI. I didn't see this as a big problem - I've done a few others on this particular Caribbean island without issues, but this would be the first time with a Xorcom unit involved. We tried to do

SELinux and samba/winbind w/ADS on RHEL 4.6
SELinux appears to be interfering with winbind's functionality. I have the lastest policy package installed: selinux-policy-targeted-1.17.30-2.149 which allegedly solves this problem according to the RedHat knowledge base, but clearly does not. I have to turn off SELinux by using setenforce 0 (permissive) to get winbind to work at all, and based on what I see in the log files,

Solaris 8 password inactivity with openssh
All, We have recently updated our password aging to include setting inactivity days. We are running ossh 4.1p1 in a Solaris 8 environment. It appears that ossh isn't picking up on inactivity. Accounts that have been inactive still prompt to change passwords - if you telnet the same servers you get kicked out immediately. On the Solaris 9 servers running SUN's ssh the inactive accounts are

Dovecot hung or what?
Here is my first major problem with dovecot. I am running rc15 on FreeBSD 6.1. I run dovecot supervised by DJB's daemontools. I run only the pop3 service. A colleague informed me that pop3 service was simply not responding. They could not rcv mail. When I checked the server, tail-ing dovecot.log, here is what was scrolling: [wash at nbi ~]$ tail -f /var/log/dovecot.log dovecot: Nov 23

2.6 Kernel Out of memory
Hi guys, Another strange behavior with some test servers. They are booted using 2.6.11.12, xen-2.0.6, Debian. The only daemons running on dom0 are : xend, smtp, quagga (ospf), portmap (nfs client), sshd. Memory usage at startup is aroung 30 MB. Dom0 reserved memory is 256 MB. The only things that happen on this server are domU''s start/stop (xm create, xm shutdown) and a

How to check an inactive slave in a bond?
I''m using bonding in active-fallback mode to guarantee maximum availability on some critical servers. The mii mode is active so I can detect things like dead card and/or unplugged cable even on the inactive slave. But how do I check that the inactive slave is properly configured/connected to the switch/vlan? I ask this question because it has just bitten me in a part I''ll keep

Apache wakes-up inactive Exim
Had a surprising event on C 6.5. Exim was the only MTA installed. It was partially configured (with ACL, Router, Transport) and definitely not running. I was remotely testing a web page. A web page error condition invoked the embedded PHP mail() command. To my astonishment something in Centos woke-up Exim. Exim sent the email and then became inactive again. The Exim logs does not show any

Repeated kernel "oops" / oom-killer with Ralph Passgang''s xen 3.0.0 Debian packages
Hi, One of my servers has had its dom0 "oops" over and over twice in the last week. Unfortunately this is newly deployed so I have no idea if it is down to Xen or not. xen_changeset : Mon Dec 12 18:47:47 2005 +0100 8270:4ad23e798798 dom0 kernel is a vanilla 2.6.12 with Ralph''s .6+xen kernel patch applied. x86_32 sarge packages were used.
