SIP URI set 'telephone-context='
Hi all, I am currently using asterisk 11, and I am trying to figure out how to set the uri parameter telephone-context. I need to set it for outbound calls for a specific carrier when making emergency calls and don't seem able to find the option to set it. Any way to over-ride the "-q" option to debug a possible race condition?
I have a slightly complicated question. I am using an mpi application (Intel impi) which uses ssh to launch applications. For about 0.1-0.2% of the ssh connections I end up with a zombie, i.e. ps will show [ssh] <defunct>. Something is going wrong with the ssh when it starts, perhaps a race condition, it is not disconnecting after some time, that I have been able to verify. The most obvious

Interesting admin info: ipmitool
I've used ipmitool any number of times, but never for more than getting info, or setting the server name on a Dell LCD screen. However, I had a server screaming about intruder alert, intruder alert, er, "Chassis intrusion detected", and I thought there might be a way to shut it up (this after pulling the server and reseating the lid). A quick google found, on the first page, an 8

Is there socksify script for dynamics forwardings to unix domain sockets?
Hi! I noticed that `ssh -D /tmp/socket $myhost` will actually provide a socks server listing on the unix domain socket /tmp/socket (this does not appear to be documented, though it is semi-documented for -L and -R). Do you know of any "socksification" script to go along with it, in the spirit of tsocks of socksify (from dante)? Those do not seem to support socks servers running on

Urls generated by nested map.resources
...orm, but this seems really hacky. Is there any other way around this? 3. I don''t want the /teams/1/roles/1 urls - is there any way of limiting the routes that map.resources produces? 4. will what I want to do break usage of ActiveResource? On a side note, the things I have read about rest impy that the url is a noun and you only have the four HTTP verbs available to you - I don''t understand why urls such as /teams/1;edit are "better" than / teams/edit/1 - both include a verb in the url - or is using the semicolon just a convention to get around the limitation of only h...

User has many topics or subtopics
Hi, So i have users in the system and i have topics. Topics also have_many subtopics. What is the cleanest way to setup the AR relationships if a user can either have_many topics or subtopics ? Its basically a dual select box dropdown, where the second dropdown is optional. Is the best to have user_topics, and user_subtopics tables and manage that way ? or combine into one table with STI

sipML5, Ast12 and WebRTC: not acceptable here
Hi All. I'm running some tests with the latest Asterisk SVN-branch-12-r410493M compiled with fresh github pjsip and srtp 1.4.2 on an i386 centOS machine (2.6.32-358.18.1.el6.i686). As a client I'm using the sipMLP WebRTC javascript softphone running on Chrome 33.0.1750.146 m. I have the softphone correctly registered on the Asterisk machine but as soon as I try to start a new call

CPU temperature in an PowerEdge 860, LM85 chip
Dear Srs, I'm trying to monitor CPU temperatures in a PowerEdge 860 server, running CentOS 5.1 with 2.6.18-53.1.6.el5 kernel, using lm-sensors v2.10.0. Running "sensors-detect" I get: ====================================================================== (..) We can start with probing for (PCI) I2C or SMBus adapters. You do not need any special privileges for this. Do you want

securing a remotely hosted machine
Hi, I'm looking to put together a doc for the wiki.c.o on howto secure a remotely hosted machine. Its a situation that many of us find ourselves in, wherein we either lease or colo a server ( or many ) and there is always the issue of remote hands, other facility users etc being able to get physical access of the machines. So what are the usual steps that people take in order to secure

my notes on bond, bridge, network, kvm, host and virtual so far
I put this page together just so I won't spam the board anymore begging for help..lol http://bobhoffman.com/vmissue.html This shows a working effort of bonded eths, bridged into a vm, and a few other things. The only missing thing is something on the host that ends up putting the VM internet connection into some kind of limbo. Whether it is hardware related, bug related, libvirt nat

IPMI in Libvirt
Greetings all, I am looking for a solution to use IPMI (BMC) in with LibVirt (Virt-Manager). Actually there is a Customer behind this request as well. Trying to be short: We are looking for a Solution in OpenStack Environment. Customer wants to have the entire environment running in Virt-Manager (probably for a P.O.C or tests purposes). So here is what he is trying to do: http://red.ht/1HfNn9r

load balancing 20 asterisk servers
I've read several other emails and pages on the wiki but none give any deffinate answers. if you have 20 asterisk servers each with 4 pri's, all running RealTime Extensions and RealTime SIPBuddies from the same MySQL server, what prevents you from putting all 20 servers behind a single load balancer? That way all of your UA's can use the same IP to register to; vs maintaining which

Kickstart ksdevice question
This should be easy to answer (I hope).? We routinely kickstart boxes to use for managing our customers RADIUS/DHCP configurations (along with other things).? We've had a C7 kickstart in place since I built one in May and are finally starting to roll it out for new installations.? But, I'm curious as to what ksdevice= actually does. With the C6 we routinely used ksdevice=eth0 since we
