ruby alternative to php's implode and expload functions
is there a method similar to php''s expload function in ruby. i have a database field that contains an array of items, when i output this field i notice the items are seperated by ''-'' e.g item1-item2-item3. how would i go about putting them back into an array in ruby. for example in PHP i would just do this: $field; // = item1-item2-item3 $field_as_array =

You Will All Die In 1 Week (Mongrel To Require 1.8.6)
Hopefully that gets everyone''s attention. Evan Weaver has whined enough to make me do a release to change the requirements on the Mongrel gem so that it doesn''t need the cgi_multipart_eof_fix anymore. *************************** THIS ALSO MEANS THAT MONGREL WILL HAVE TO REQUIRE RUBY 1.8.6 OR GREATER! NO EXCEPTIONS! *************************** I know Debian guys like to hack

Practical limit on dial prefixes for a route
Colleagues, We're in the process of standardizing on Sprint PCS and Cingular phones on a national basis (~ 50 properties, 1000's of lines). I manage an Asterisk install at one location. I've been looking at the Multitech CellFinder CDMA for Sprint as a dial backup solution. Basically, it's a CDMA to POTS gateway, tied to a PCS account. We would see it as a trunk line and I

I can almost feel Civilization 3 running
But not quite. If I could just get past the sound, I think it might start and run. I'm running Wine in desktop display mode, emulating win98. comdlg32, shell32, shlwapi, and '*' are set to "native, builtin" while the rest of the DLLs that the default installation names are builtin, native. I've tried running it with 'winedbg --gdb civilization3', and it always

Both Xen and VirtualBox On the Same Physical Host?
Hi all, I have a Sun x2200 named Adra running OpenSolaris 2008.11 set up as a Dom0 per Levon''s instructions on this site. It hosts some production services and has been running nice and stable for a number of months now (with NetWare DomUs running GroupWise, believe it or not). The machine is pretty nicely speced out and there''s room for more virtualisation, so I was

It is not the only reason, when ES guests gain debug register support then #VC also needs to be IST, because #DB can be promoted into #VC then, and as #DB is IST for a reason,

Problem login into Gluster Platform
Hello to all! Can anyone help me to setup gluster management console (gluster platform) on running glusterfs nodes? I've managed to setup distributed glusterfs with two nodes and that works perfectly. Now, I've discovered (unfortunately, outdated) that web interface, but I'm having problems login into it :) My setup env is Fedora 15 x86_64. These are the steps I've taken so far:

Status of Merb on JRuby
I''ve submitted a few patches on Trac to help get Merb running under JRuby [0][1][2][3][4]. It''d be cool if any of you committers could find the time to look them over and apply/reject them. They''re mostly tiny, so it shouldn''t be too onerous. With all of these patches applied, there are still 3 spec failures. One is in the spec ''a merb mailer
