ruby alternative to php's implode and expload functions
is there a method similar to php''s expload function in ruby. i have a database field that contains an array of items, when i output this field i notice the items are seperated by ''-'' e.g item1-item2-item3. how would i go about putting them back into an array in ruby. for example in PHP i would just do this: $field; // = item1-item2-item3 $field_as_array =

You Will All Die In 1 Week (Mongrel To Require 1.8.6)
.... I''m kind of stuck. == What Needs To Happen 1) Look at the version number of your Ruby and whether your OS includes the fix already for older versions. Report this to me if your OS is retarded and is using an vulnerable Ruby. 2) Tell me if doing the upgrade will make your entire world implode. If this means you''ll have to actually do an upgrade for once then I guess you better get ready to spend the weekend working. 3) If it looks like way too many people are impacted by requiring 1.8.6 then I''ll need another solution. Practical limit on dial prefixes for a route
...for prefixes reachable via a route. I assume that search time is somewhat of a factor. The * box doing the routing is a dual core machine with 4GB of RAM, so it has lots of horsepower. Wondering what limits users have pushed it to on a large scale. Could it handle something like that or would it implode from a huge routing table (assuming our tech contacts at PCS could supply us with a national listing of NPA-NXX's on the PCS network). Thanks in advance for any info. EKG ^ depending on call volume, we may install multiple cell lines ...

Missing /usr/share/perl5 in C7
...sr/share/perl5/ is that there was some files and directories there, just not everything, so it wasn't completely empty. I have no real answer to that, though. But, right now, the box is stable for what it will be doing, and I've got a production MySQL server to troubleshoot why it's imploded twice the last two nights after being up for 400 days without trouble. Both Xen and VirtualBox On the Same Physical Host?
...as thinking of trying out the demo VM image of Comms Suite 6u1; however, the image is a VirtualBox image, not Xen. Can I safely install VirtualBox 3.0 on Adra alongside the Xen 3.1.4 and run both types of virtualisation, or will this sort of mixing cause the machine to spontaneously combust and/or implode? thx jake -- This message posted from opensolaris.org

Should SEV-ES #VC use IST? (Re: [PATCH] Allow RDTSC and RDTSCP from userspace)

It is not the only reason, when ES guests gain debug register support then #VC also needs to be IST, because #DB can be promoted into #VC then, and as #DB is IST for a reason,

Well, we could just say no :-) At some point in the very near future this house of cards is going to implode. We're talking about the 3rd case where the only reason things 'work' is because we'll have to panic(): - #MC - #DB with BUS LOCK DEBUG EXCEPTION - #VC SNP (and it ain't a happy accident they're all IST) Did someone forget to pass the 'ISTs are *EVIL*' memo t...

CentOS 7 : create RAID arrays manually using mdadm --create ?
...doesn't that mean that any processes with > swap on the associated space will be killed? Avoiding that is kind > of the point of having mirrors.... It's a good question. I try to avoid swap use, especially on hard drives. For some use cases it's better to slow to a crawl than implode under pressure. For more cases I think swap on SSD makes more sense, the system won't slow down nearly as much. Why I avoid swap on md raid 1/10 is because of the swap caveats listed under man 4 md. Is possible for a page in memory to change between the writes to the two md devices such that...

Status of Merb on JRuby
...ot; at the moment, meaning that erb templates should work. The other template engines are in various states of semi-to-non-working. Markaby passes all its specs, so it should work, but I''d like to hear from someone who uses it before we call it supported. The builder template specs implode quietly, taking the whole spec run down with them, so I''ve disabled them. Rendering a trivial builder template works fine, so it''s probably a problem with the specs as opposed to builder itself. Haml fails a couple of specs, so I''ve disabled it, too, for now. I o...
