asterisk and pstn
Hi, First of all apologies because this isn't strictly a purely asterisk question. I am quite new to asterisk and actually to voip/telephony as a whole. I currently have sip calls working through asterisk. The asterisk server is behind a linksys router. I would now like to connect calls to the pstn. I have researched into several ways to do this but because I am not very knowledgeable about

MTE -- discussion on Exception unwinding ABI
Hi everyone, I believe the ABI for exception unwinding on a stack tagged with MTE needs to be clarified -- hopefully we can start the discussion here? (Please feel free to add people to the thread that you think would be interested). I'll outline some possible approaches that I think seem good below, I know Evgenii and Peter have done a lot of investigation in this area for HWASAN, so

Nonlinear regression and categories
Hi there: I'm trying to run a large number of nonlinear regressions on a time series dataset, where the data will be formatted something to the effect of: ObservationID,time, dependentvar I'll have a number of time and dependentvars for each observation, and I want to apply a nonlinear regression to one ObservationID at a time, and I want to have a dataset that is the parameter

...d arithmetic coding. The original range code pdf presented in the UK by an ibm employee at the time asserts no patent claims what so ever. If there are patents I cant find em. I have the original paper in PDF if anyone cares to see it. Its a good candidate for encoding because browsing a few of the implememntations avaialable on line, I can roll my own and I think the speed would be acceptable. BTW, the speed of rangecoding over arithmetic is really not as great as you'd might think. The speed gain is because entropy normalization is done on the byte level for range, as opposed to the bit level. It is t...

Will samba work on Linux/486 with heavy swapping?
I'm very sorry about posting HTML. I know better then that and should have double checked my defaults. I'm reposting this hoping someone Is there a known bug that samba has on older machines in low memory environments? I have set up a 486 with 24Mb of memory with RedHat 7.1. I set it up to run dhcpd, xinetd, and samba. Samba was not run through xinetd. The samba server had a tendency
