asterisk and pstn
...is behind a linksys router. I would now like to connect calls to the pstn. I have researched into several ways to do this but because I am not very knowledgeable about telephony I am now quite confused. This is what i understand so far. If this is incorrect or if anybody has any ideas as to I could implememnt this in a better/more scalable fashion, I would really appreciate it. I could put a fxo card in my asterisk server and connect this to a telephone line. This would enable sip to pstn calls but only one call at a time. To connect analog phones from the inside network(i.e. the asterisk network) goin...

MTE -- discussion on Exception unwinding ABI
...: - The linker will complain about a missing personality function (and hence not create a binary). (This benefit derives from the fact that we would be creating a *new* personality function to annotate functions with). However, this approach has the downsides that: - Each language that wants to implememnt MTE stack tagging will need to write a new personality routine to return this extra enum. - We're adding a new way for the compiler and unwinder to communicate (with this new enum value). --- Summary --- I'd appreciate any feedback on this, especially w.r.t. how much people are worr...

Nonlinear regression and categories
Hi there: I'm trying to run a large number of nonlinear regressions on a time series dataset, where the data will be formatted something to the effect of: ObservationID,time, dependentvar I'll have a number of time and dependentvars for each observation, and I want to apply a nonlinear regression to one ObservationID at a time, and I want to have a dataset that is the parameter

...d arithmetic coding. The original range code pdf presented in the UK by an ibm employee at the time asserts no patent claims what so ever. If there are patents I cant find em. I have the original paper in PDF if anyone cares to see it. Its a good candidate for encoding because browsing a few of the implememntations avaialable on line, I can roll my own and I think the speed would be acceptable. BTW, the speed of rangecoding over arithmetic is really not as great as you'd might think. The speed gain is because entropy normalization is done on the byte level for range, as opposed to the bit level. It...

Will samba work on Linux/486 with heavy swapping?
I'm very sorry about posting HTML. I know better then that and should have double checked my defaults. I'm reposting this hoping someone Is there a known bug that samba has on older machines in low memory environments? I have set up a 486 with 24Mb of memory with RedHat 7.1. I set it up to run dhcpd, xinetd, and samba. Samba was not run through xinetd. The samba server had a tendency
