Access denied for samba share
Hi, we have a stange problem here since samba 4.12. Users on specific clients are not allowed to access a share after reboot of the client and in very rare cases suddenly during use. When we restart the smb service after the access denied message on the client for a share, the user is allowed to access the share. So there seems no problem with permissions. Are there any known reasons for

Errors for shares since 4.12.0
Hi, I tried samba 4.12.0 on our file server which is a domain member and exporting some shares. We're getting some strange errors on some shares since the update. Right after starting or restarting smbd everything is fine. After short while (seconds or a few minutes) users are getting errors when trying to access the shares, e.q. "Invalid Handle Error", "An unexpected

Issue sharing folders with Thunderbird
Trying to share folder "JasonAlerts" within mailbox operations to user u1.name Issues: 1. Shared mailboxes do not appear under subscriptions in Thunderbird for another user 2. When I try to set permissions via IMAP commands I get in /var/log/dovecot.log Aug 26 20:33:24 imap(operations): Error: nfs_flush_chown_uid: chown(/var/lib/dovecot/db) failed: Permission denied 3. Issue sharing folders with Thunderbird
Hi Aki I see what you are saying, and no I don?t believe so. I?m using typical /etc/passwd for the user db. I reviewed https://wiki.dovecot.org/UserDatabase/ExtraFields <https://wiki.dovecot.org/UserDatabase/ExtraFields> but I?m not clear on how to actually return system_user userdb attribute. I also have set mail_user_groups = sharedusers in dovecot.conf and then in /etc/group put all

(Every line is an ACL like "user=testuser ilrws") I took a look at the changelog from 2.0.14 onwards and since it says nothing about my problem I am not looking forward to compiling dovecot myself and installing it. Any ideas why this is happening? Is this a known problem? Any help is appreciated, Knud ------------Dovecot-on-port-992---...

Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
Hi, at first I'm not sure if this is the correct list to ask this question. But since I'm using winbind I hope you can help me. I try to realize a kerberized ssh from one client to another. Both clients are member of subdom2.subdom1.example.de and joined to it. The users are from example.de, where subdom1.example.de is a subdomain (bidirectional trust) of example.de and

I can suggest a few things. krb5.conf ( if you use nfsv4 with kerberized mounts _ [libdefaults] ignore_k5login = true in But, it does not look like it in you logs your useing kerberized mounts. Im missing in SSHD_config : UseDNS yes And the defaults : # GSSAPI options GSSAPIAuthentication yes GSSAPICleanupCredentials yes Are sufficient for a normal ssh kerberized login. Optional,

Winbind, Kerberos, SSH and Single Sign On
Hi, thanks for your hints. DNS, /etc/resolf.conf, /ets/hosts seem to be correct. I'm able to do a kerberized ssh with a user from subdom2.subdom1.example.de (testuser at SUBDOM2.SUBDOM1.EXAMPLE.DE) But I'm not able to do the same with a user from example.de (user1 at EXAMPLE.DE). -- Regards, Andreas Am 01.11.2017 um 10:51 schrieb L.P.H. van Belle via samba: > I can suggest a few
