iLBC support in Asterisk after Google's acquisition of GIPS
Recently, we were notified that the mechanism included in our Asterisk source code releases to download and build support for the iLBC codec had stopped working correctly; a little investigation revealed that this occurred because of some changes on the ilbcfreeware.org website. These changes occurred as result of Google's acquisition of GIPS, who produced (and provided licenses for) the iLBC codec. We've determined that the change necessary to fix Asterisk's iLBC build process is rather trivial, and so we're planning to make that change in A...

super high bandwidth codec
I've just gotten off a skype conference call and it pisses me off that the quality of skype is higher than my asterisk calls. Is there such a thing as a super high bandwidth codec? In a situation that you have the bandwidth to share is there something that I can use for important calls when the situation warrants it? TIA, Dean -------------- next part -------------- An

Some simple questions
I'm being PHBed into a VOIP project, and Speex sprang to mind. Bandwidth is going to be a fairly serious issue for us. With regards to a Speex enc/decoder, I was wondering: Rick Kane and David Siebert have already asked about this, but seem to have gotten very different responses - the former a call to arms, and the latter a "well, if you do it, it'll get done." What's the

compilation of asterisk 1.4.19 with ilbc already on system
I already have ilbc installed on my system. The files are: /usr/include/ilbc/iLBC_decode.h /usr/include/ilbc/iLBC_define.h /usr/include/ilbc/iLBC_encode.h /usr/lib/libilbc.a /usr/lib/libilbc.la /usr/lib/libilbc.so -> libilbc.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libilbc.so.0 -> libilbc.so.0.0.0 /usr/lib/libilbc.so.0.0.0 However, if I do a "make" in asterisk-1.4.19, it will not detect that libilbc.a
