Hi, I built Wine-0.9.5 this morning from portage on one of our Gentoo machines. I then tried installing the StreeSmart Pro Simulator application from Charles Schwab. The install hung very quickly and got to the point where a winepreloader process was using 100% CPU but was making no apparent forward progress. When I hit Ctrl-C in the terminal where I was running I got this info in an error box:

Please Wait." and this is absolutely OK, but there's an other message which says "Error installing iKernel.exe: (0x800)". There's no message to console. I'm having problems when installing applications using InstallShield. ...a windowsless Wine configuration and not having much luck. When I run Setup.exe from /cdrom, I get the Baldur's Gate II splash screen, the progress bar indicating that InstallShield is preparing to install Baldur's Gate II - Shadow of Amn and a message box stating 'Error installing iKernel.exe: (0x1400)'. When I click on the Ok button in the message box, the process terminates. Has anyone else run across this? Know of any possible work-arounds? (I'm running Wine CVS from 07-27-2002) Thanx, Ian

Hello, I just installed wine and tried to setup Morrowind with it but installation program fails straight at start as InstallShield can't install something called iKernel. I've been having trouble on newer builds of win32 applications. does anyone have tips for installing or had success installing Medal of Honor or GhostRecon to run in wine? i have a working wine install, as it runs and accelerates half-life (and CS) just perfectly. im running rh7.2 with 20020228. when i try to install these , i get a cannot invoke iKernel.exe error (pertaining to install shield i believe). any help is greatly appreciated!! thanks, Jonathan
