[PATCH 1/4] drm: retrieve EDID via ACPI _DDC method
...rieve an EDID via ACPI _DDC, would certainly be
problematic.
On at least the system I'm working with for the various switcheroo and
platform-x86 driver patches I've recently sent off, the dGPU has an ACPI
_DOD table and one _DDC method corresponding to one of the _DOD entries,
but the iGPU has neither a _DOD table nor a _DDC method. Either GPU can
be connected to the internal panel via the dynamically switchable mux,
and the internal panel's EDID is available via _DDC to allow a
disconnected GPU to read the EDID. Since only the DGPU has _DOD and
_DDC, and there's no obvio...

Yes I think adding MEM_T_IDENTITY will be necessary. I can see they are
used for both iGPU and USB controllers on my x86 machines. Do you know
more precisely what they are used for by the firmware?
It's not necessary with the base virtio-iommu device though (v0.4),
because the device can create the identity mappings itself and report them
to the guest as MEM_T_BYPASS. However, when...

your NVIDIA G98 dGPU. You may find reading

Options for xorg.conf supported by driver
G'day,
I'm configuring my xorg.conf to set my dGPU as the main GPU because my
laptop's fans aren't supported and the GPU fan is really important for
the thermals. The CPU fan sucks air from the base, and the dGPU fan
pushes it out the back.
It's an Inspiron 15 7000 which isn't support by i8x as far as I could tell.
So I'm wondering, is there a list of options that

nouveau regression [bisected] hotplug broken on gf108 since 4.1
Hi All,
I'm having this really weird issue with broken hotplug on a Dell Latitude E6430 with
hybrid gfx, with a gf108 as discrete GPU.
The LCD panel and VGA are connected through a mux to the iGPU, but the HDMI is only
connected to the nvidia dGPU. Plugging in a HDMI monitor when the dGPU is suspend
works fine, the ACPI event fires and everything works as it should.
Unplugging the HDMI OTOH, or plugging it in when the dGPU is _not_ suspended does
not work until I manually run xrandr.
I'...
