Routing problem
Hi, i have one firewall/gateway server with two interfaces and a routing problem (?). eth0: external interface eth1: internal interface. Both ip address are valid. Services like DNS, HTTP is configured to run using eth1 ip address. The problem is when i try to connect from internet to firewall, i can´t see eth1 ip address... only eth0 ip address. So, when i try to connect to web

finding the MLEs of IG parameters by EM-Alorithm
Dear all I'm trying to caculate the MLEs for parameters of Inverse Gaussian distribution (in a k-sample problem with common mean) by using EM-Algorithm. I found some package for EM-Algorithm that are useful for missing or incomplete data and are not helpful for solving my problem. (Exactly, the problem is: Let Xij, i=1,..,k , j=1,...,ni, be a random sample from IG(?,?i). So the

help interpreting output?
Dear R experts, I'm hoping someone can help me to interpret the results of building gam's with mgcv in R. Below are summaries of two gam's based on the same dataset. The first gam (named "gam.mod") has six predictor variables. The second gam (named "gam.mod2") is exactly the same except it is missing one of the predictor variables. What is confusing me is

Using stored configs brakes on client update
Hi, We''re using puppet from longer time, but now want to switch into stored configs. When I ran locally puppet on puppetmaster server, ie: puppet /var/lib/puppet/manifests/nodes.pp --debug it works smooth. When running client with debug I get message: root@puppet-client:~# puppet agent -v --fqdn=puppet-client.ig.local -- waitforcert 60 --onetime --no-daemonize --logdest console --test

counting occurrence of text in a dataframe
Hello list. I am hoping for some help with a relatively simple problem. I have a data frame arranged as below. I want to be able to count the occurrence of each gene (eg let-7e) by Experiment. In other words how many times does a given gene crop up in the dataframe. I tried table but couldn't work out how to get the output I want. I have also considered rearranging this data into a list (by

Neural Networks in R
Hello! We are a group of three students at Bielefeld University currently working on a statistical projects about neural networks. Within the framework of this project we are supposed to use the nnet-function in R and explain how it works. Since anyone of us has much experience in using R we hoped to find some information on your homepage. Unfortunatelly, we haven't been very successfull so

ordinal(): [was "a handy function ..." in March..]
I'm finally cleaning up old things / todo's; We had about half a dozen e-mails on R-devel back in mid March...... Here is my proposal, a sometimes useful utility for constructing strings in cat() or text(), legend(), etc.: ordinal <- function(i, language =3D "english", gender =3D c("female","male"), sep=3D""= ) { ii <- i

[Y2038] kernel/libc uapi changes for y2038
...ing hard to find. I have not much experience with kernel programming, and even less with Linux than with MS-DOS and BSD, but should not each driver have a central ioctl entry point, from which it should cast the user space data into a (possibly locally declared) structure? bye, //mirabilos -- <igli> exceptions: a truly awful implementation of quite a nice idea. <igli> just about the worst way you could do something like that, afaic. <igli> it's like anti-design. <mirabilos> that too? may I quote you on that? <igli> sure, tho i doubt anyone will listen ;)

multi-isp and preventing certain traffic on a given connection
I have a multi-isp configuration: CGCO 1 256 main $CGCOIF detect track, balance br-lan,tun0 IGS 2 512 main $IGSIF detect track, fallback br-lan,tun0 where I force SMTP out one of the connections: 512:P br-lan - tcp 25 But the effect of that of course is that if IGS goes down, SMTP will leak out of the CGCO connection. How can I prevent that? Cheers, b.
