AMD64 vs i386, ifstat and bsnmp
Couple of little things I noticed with a new RELENG_7 AMD64 box (as of yesterday) ifstat from the ports cannot seem to find interfaces for some reason ? It works fine on i386 [ns8]# ifstat -b ifstat: no interfaces to monitor! [ns8]# [ns8]# ifconfig em0: flags=8843<UP,BROADCAST,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> metric 0 mtu 1500 options=19b<RXCSUM,TXCSUM,VLAN_MTU,VLAN_HW...

Problems with gpxelinux and Broadcom 57711
...ers of ISO images that we boot from the net. The 460c G6:s fetch gpxelinux.0 but gPXE fails to get the config from the webserver, "Connection timed out (0x4c116035)". I've attached a screen dump (with blacked out IP-addresses), don't know if it helps in any way. If I do an "ifstat" on the gPXE command line I get: Net0: <ethernet address> on UNDI (closed) [Link: up, TX:0 TXE:0 RX:0 RXE:0] I tried compiling gPXE 1.0.1 but that failed too. It seems like the undionly driver and BCM 57711 aren't compatible? If I skip gpxelinux.0 and load pxelinux.0 directly fro...

Memory reporting...
Hi, I have a little question about memory usage... When I do a free, I get: total used free shared buffers cached Mem: 18482800 18030668 452132 0 683068 9426792 -/+ buffers/cache: 7920808 10561992 But, when I do a ps, mysql is the only process that takes noticable memory; and it is far from 7.9GBs... kernel parameters for improving gluster writes on millions of small writes (long)
This is a continuation of my previous posts about improving write perf when trapping millions of small writes to a gluster filesystem. I was able to improve write perf by ~30x by running STDOUT thru gzip to consolidate and reduce the output stream. Today, another similar problem, having to do with yet another bioinformatics program (which these days typically handle the 'short reads' that

bandwidth aggregation between 2 hosts in the same subnet
Hi, I''m trying to increase the bandwidth between two hosts (backup). Both hosts are in the same /24 subnet and each of them is connected to a Cisco switch by 2 GbE interfaces (intel e1000). The switches/host are located in different building which are connected by 3 x GbE. building A | building B | --------

ESFQ?
Hi again, I was just looking around for ESFQ sources, and I see that the main site is down, and only has kernel 2.6.4 patches. Is ESFQ maintained? If so, where can I find patches for 2.6.10? Thanks, -justin _______________________________________________ LARTC mailing list / LARTC@mailman.ds9a.nl http://mailman.ds9a.nl/mailman/listinfo/lartc HOWTO: http://lartc.org/
