snmp statistics for vnics
...ics:
We noticed that the statistics for vnics (used by Virtualbox guests) are not there. When the nics are plumped in the host OS, we do see them showing up, but all all records are 0.
Can someone tell me how to get the correct network info via snmp on the Vbox Host??
Thanks in advance.

Net-SNMP interfaces out of order
...ction with 4 different subnets. All
works fine, except I'm noticing that my MRTG traffic graphs are wrong.
Further digging with snmpwalk reveal that the order of the ethernet
interfaces changes every time the machine is rebooted to a different order.
For example, I currently see:
IF-MIB::ifDescr.1 = STRING: lo
IF-MIB::ifDescr.2 = STRING: eth3
IF-MIB::ifDescr.3 = STRING: eth4
IF-MIB::ifDescr.4 = STRING: eth0
IF-MIB::ifDescr.5 = STRING: eth1
IF-MIB::ifDescr.6 = STRING: eth2
IF-MIB::ifDescr.7 = STRING: sit0
Why is this not in proper order? Other servers seem to be ok. my

Interfaces stick around now on domain restart?
...n domains on an etch dom0 (my other
servers being sarge with backports at this time). I've noticed that
when a domain is restarted or shut down, SNMP believes that the
interface is still there and a new interface with the same name has
been created.
For example, on an snmpwalk:

Paravirt network interfaces and snmp
...#39;' - i.e 7.5mbit - which of course isn''t really a problem.
Looking a the output from snmpwalk it does look like the paravirt''s
interface (eth0) is being reported as 10mbit
