Helo, I'm trying to update a centos server with a kernel form the centos.plus repro because it contain Firewire/IEEE1394 support. Is there some reason the ahci kernel module is *missing* from the 2.6.9-89.0.16.plus.c4 kernel? It is in the standard 2.6.9-89.0.16.EL kernel. Is this due to an oversight or is there some sort of conflict? I wanted to add IEEE1394 support to my system running CentOS 4.8. Hi, We're planning to launch a video stream. We do not have anything yet (no camera, no computer, no software, only a Linux server that will do the broadcasting with icecast installed). Has anyone ever done such a thing? What hardware do you suggest? What software can be used (both for Linux and Windows on source side). I recently purchased a Diamond VC500 video capture device that runs on the USB. It has some interesting issues under Windoze, but I was wondering: I did a google for video catpreu and linux and most of what I found either said it can't be done or the software that did/does it is obsolete. System seems to boot ok, run programs ok, access devices ok (SATA DVD, IDE HDD, SATA HDD, network, video, audio, USB, IEEE1394). But I don't think Linux knows my CPU (no friendly name for my AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+), and it can't see all my RAM (3 of 8GB). memtest86+ sees all my RAM, I think. Not sure if there's any other issues. Disks don't have proper file systems or OS installs on them as of yet....

Hi all, On dual core processor machine, I installed ubuntu-8.04 in which I installed xen-3.2. In ubuntu: # cat /proc/cpuinfo --> Shows two processors information.
