Playing with the new idxview I got this error running against my INBOX dovecot.index.cache file. What exactly does it mean? http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.rc32.tar.gz http://dovecot.org/releases/dovecot-1.0.rc32.tar.gz.sig Pretty late for changes if v1.0 is supposed to come out tomorrow, but I can't really leave these LDAP bugs unfixed. They shouldn't anyway break anything, so here's one more day for you people to find out about any bugs. One thing that I'm a bit concerned about is the

dovecot.index.cache weirdness
Hi Timo, Just a quick check, may I know if the following output of idxview is normal? (see bottom of e-mail) I am running dovecot-1.0.3 on a Solaris 10 SPARC box. Deleting dovecot.index.cache does not seem to help for this user; it keeps getting regenerated with these same lines. I seems that I have to set mmap_disable=yes on this box to have a "clean-looking&q...

Newbie: unable to access mailbox more than once
Hello, I'm using dovecot as a mail relay so that I can back up my providers IMAP mail locally. I'm impressed how easy this was to set up, but I'm having a quirk that I would like help with, if possible. There are many weak links in my set-up chain, if you will, but I think I've narrowed the problem. I'll describe my set-up anyway. I'm running dovecot 1.1.4 on ubuntu

Question about pre-indexing maildirs
I have a situation with many users and an existing mail delivery agent. Seems like I once saw an imaptest program which I imagine might be used to pre-index maildirs. For example... - remember which users and user maildirs have changed since last pre-index - when system quiet pre-index any maildirs which have had mail delivered and no access by a mail client (using some

using dsync to convert mailboxes looses caching options
...lds are preserved but the 'last used' date and caching decisions are not which I suspect means dsync doesn't bother caching on import - only fields with a yes decision in the source are copied (but their decision is only copied as a tmp with the date of import). utility to update indexes ?
...counting files in the maildirs (plus caching the result, and present old values if the directory timestamps hasn?t changed). I think this checking of unread messages webservice would be much nicer on the filesystem if it instead used the dovecot indexes, so I created a small utility based on utils/idxview.c that do that: http://blag.tanso.net/code/unread.c But this woun?t work if the maildir has been modified outside of dovecot (i.e. webmail usage). Are there any simple interface I can use in this short snippet for noticing that the index is out of sync, and update it ? -jf
