ggplot2: labels points with different colors or idnumbers
Dear list,   Using ggplot2 I could produce both boxplot and points in the same plot but instead of points I would like to label the different subjects with different colors or their idnumbers. Is there away to do it? Also how can I put three plots on the same graph with ggplot2? mfrow=c(3,1) did not do the job.   > dat    group time   id  freq 1      1   00 0018  5.21 2      1   00 3026  3.13 3      1   00 5030  5.04 4      1   00 5108  3.23 5      1   00 5152  3.97 6      1   0...

Sampling from a database
...I would like is to issue a query such as SELECT * FROM file WHERE runif > 0.9 with "runif" being a uniformly distributed random number, generated on the fly; but I cannot find any way to do that in PostgreSQL. So far, my only idea is to create a new table with two fields, "IDnumber" and "Random", fill "IDnumber" with the similarly named field from the table to sample, populate "Random" with random numbers generated in R and then issue a query for records where "IDnumber" of the two tables match AND Random > 0.9. Seems...

How can I have new users/groups to include posixAccount/posixGroup schema automatically?
Greetings, All! I've added a few domain users/groups for test, but they don't have ?idNumber, even though the relevant schema is loaded? How can I tell it to include relevant schema for all newly created users/groups? -- With best regards, Andrey Repin Wednesday, April 8, 2015 20:52:10 Sorry for my terrible english...

At one point I thought that this might be the problem - so long as there's only even one single group/user that doesn't have a [gu]idNumber set, it wouldn't work. That assumption was wrong, obviously. But...

uidNumber=RID allowed or not recommended?
...on "Important Notes": It used to be thought that using Windows RIDs for Unix IDs was acceptable, time has proven otherwise. But unfortunately no reasoning is given. I am wondering why this is not recommended. We are currently planning such a migration. Unfortunately we have to set the uidNumber=RID for all users. Currently around half the users have this setting based on LDAP. This is required so that a third party application will work after the migration. This third party application is samba aware but when using Samba NT4 style domains the application uses the uidnumber for internal...

Samba as AD member & without winbind...
...t; > -slow > A bit ? 'while using allocation to create new mappings' I have never used this backend, but what you are saying is that it will use the SID from AD? and map this to a Unix user or group. For the OP this would probably entail creating Unix users & groups with the uidNumber or gidNumbers from LDAP. If this is the case, you might just as well add these *idNumbers to AD and use the winbind 'ad' backend. Rowland

Hard drives being renamed
...antage of WWN is that the ID won't change if you connect the disk to a different controller, for example from a SAS one to a SATA one. In one of my servers, if I unplug a SATA disk from a LSI-Avago SAS controller and I connect it to a Intel onboard SATA controller the ID changes from "scsi-idnumber" to "ata-brand-model-serialnumber" but the WWN remains constant.

Verifying idmap.ldb consistency across domain controllers
...d > replace idmap.ldb from the 1st DC? What are some tell tell signs of > idmap.ldb inconsistency? Thanks for any guidance. The one real inconsistency would be the BUILTIN users and groups and if it wasn't for sysvol, even this wouldn't be a problem. Once a user or group is given a *idNumber, this will be used instead of the xidNumber stored in idmap.ldb, so comparing a BUILTIN user or group xidNumber in the first DCs idmap.ldb with the same data on another DC is probably the only way of telling for sure. Having said that, it would probably be easier to set up a cron job to sync idma...
