Zap callwaiting hookflash idiosyncracy/flaw?
Don't know what else to call this. Googling and some time on the IRC channel haven't gotten me anywhere. Here's the sitch, which is a bit complicated but is something my customers are in fact encountering on an everyday basis: 1. Bob is on a Zap channel talking through the PSTN to Carol. Both have the misfortune, like so many of us, of having LECs who do not offer disconnect

Best way to deal with an idiosyncracy of Intel Boot Agent (IBA)...
...equests this filename from the TFTP server, which (of course) has no file by that name. BTW, Broadcom NICs and Nvidia NICs properly handle this. (RealTek? Well, I've never successfully gotten a RealTek NIC to PXE boot, but that may be a personal problem. :-) ) I understand this Intel NIC idiosyncracy. I accept this. I'm sure everyone else has seen this too. My question is -- what is the recommended approach to work around this? 1. Don't pass option 67. Instead pass the NBP filename "old school". Using the old DHCP "file" field. PROs: 1. Works for In...

Buig in bin/R script (PR#9375)
Full_Name: Gordon Lack Version: 2.4.0 OS: OSF1 v5.1 Submission from: (NULL) (198.28.92.5) Changes to the bin/R front-end interlude script at 2.4.0 (cf: 2.2.0) have broken R on (Dec/Compaq/HP) OSF1. There are 3 occurrences of "${@}", but this is the incorrect syntax for adding $@, as on older Bourne shells this will add an empty (but present) parameter. The result is that the build

[LLVMdev] symbols for exception handling
mips16 has some unusual requirements for label symbols in .s. I think that arm thumb has the same issue but have not located yet how this is handled. When you have a label of an instruction in mips16, when you reference the label, the linker adds a 1 to the address. When you call an odd numbered address, the procesor switches to mips16 mode and when you call an even numbered address it

Apologies accepted! :) Seriously though, the Samba team has done a great job with the AD stuff. I was pretty much able to drop Samba4 in as a replacement for our SBS 2008 with virtually no issues. What issues I had were mostly Microsoft idiosyncracies (refer to my GPO

R-beta: legend
Does the "legend" command work in the windows version of R? Here is the command that I'm using: legend(1,1,legend=c("G1","G2","G3","G4","G5","G6"),pch=array(1:6,dim=c (1,6))) When I use this on my existing graph in a window I get a solid black box at the lower left. If I use this with the postscript driver my output

IEEE_754 logic
Can anybody of the architects of R enlighten me about the reasoning behind the selection of the IEEE 754 mode for the building of R, please? Special points of interest are: 1. The selection seems to be based on the availability of isnan() and finite(). Is this a common way to test for IEEE 754? 2. The C9x draft introduces isfinite() instead of finite() (and as I see, some systems, e.g. the
