dear all, i have a matrix and i dont know how to assign names to this matrix. given v is 100x5 matrix, and label -> c("A","B","C","D","E") idealy, names(v) <- label, but it doesnt work for different length if dimnames(v) <- list(1:nrow(v),label), then names(v) return NULL any smart ways? thanks in advance. best regards pan yuming -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -...

How to make R automatic?
...(overwrite itself). What I want R to do is: 1) scan the folder to find the file. 2) if the file is a newly generated file, process the file 3) output some file identifier on the screen, such as the time when the file was generated. 4) pause for 20 seconds (doesnt need to be precise) and repeat 1) Idealy, I would like R to do this everyday from 9:00am to 6:00pm. What I got so far is: I can use list.files() and file.info to get 1) and 2). For 4), I can write some trivial loop to kill some time, but I would like to be more accurate tham that, considering different PC running the loop. I have no id...

does anyone have experience with clusters?
...years now. But, I want to start looking @ total clustering, with DRBD - where everything (not just MySQL) is being replicated across the 4 machines. I'm also intereated in load balancing. Has anyone done anything like this? The cluster will be running / hosting a few XEN Virtual Machines, and idealy if one PC / server dies (hardware failure / power failure / etc), then on of the other machines should still be running the virtual machines, i.e. no downtime. Is this possible? Can somone steer me into a direction where I can get more info on this? My aim: to use common, cheap PC equipment &...

nat auto detect ?
Hello ppl, This post is to do with the variables 'nat' or 'canreinvite' for sip entities. Idealy users, wont be static, they could be roaming all over the globe. So, setting someone as behind NAT, and disabling canreinvite, etc., restricts the roaming capabilities of a user. Is there any way for Asterisk to auto detect, if a user is behind NAT, also, if two users are behind the same NAT, he...

Saving multiple plots named with part of the original file name
...n a folder and create multiple histograms from each file, *and* have it save with the original file name plus some new information. The way I have it set up right now, I keep saving over each new graph. I can turn the history on and see them all, but I want them all to save as unique files as well. Idealy they would be "filename CHN 1mm Length Frequency", "filename CHN 2mm Length Frequency"...and so forth. Any hints? Thanks for your time. Here is what I'm using now: filenames<-dir("C:/Documents and Settings/tfish/Desktop/R/Untilted Data") for(i in filenames){dat...

win3.1 in wine & suse8.1
I'm new to wine and suse 8.1. I d/l the most current wine version for suse8.1 = 200303.. and rpmed it. I was surprised that wine was not updated with Yast but only directly with rpm.-F ... Does anybody you know why? I had tried it first and it seemed to work but rpm -q showed the same date! I now have doubts on all the other rpm patches/updates ... The win3.1 program is special purpose

Nested PXELINUX configurations
...hat (as far as I can tell) the Ubuntu and Debian PXELINUX assume that they are located in the tftp root folder. Since however Debian and Ubuntu use a similar file structure, I cant have both distros a the same time in the tftp root. (Not to mention the mess this would create in the tftp root). Idealy I would like to place each distro in a separate folder inside tftp root (see below) and "chainload" each pxelinux configuration from the default config file. TFTP_root---pxelinux.cfg--->default | |-------debian------pxelinux.cfg----->default | |-------ubuntu--...

So idealy to avoid getting charged a higher rate I would want to limit all calls to the UK to region codes starting with a 1 or 2 (although from what I have seen most of the 2x is 20 for london). I have found http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Area_code but I dont know if its accurate, and would prefer a more a...

[Weft QDA users] Using WeftQDA for Mailing-List Analysis
...like that Weft is public domain and written in Ruby, so I want to figure out whether it suits my set of requirements. In particular I would like to find out, whether there is a possibility that I could extend WeftQDA to allow me to import a mailbox-file as a hierarchical set of documents. Idealy I would like these documents to be sorted by date with replies being nested documents with some ability to search by author and subject of the email. One could put this as a more general feature for importing and working with structured data. For instance if one has conducted several intervi...

[LLVMdev] ProfileInfo Questions -- How to proceed?
...er that... And the last one: When passes are added or modified and the ProfileInfo preservation breaks, who is responsible for fixing it? I guess the ProfileInfo is the only analysis that can not be recalculated after its destroyed (as compared to e.g the LoopInfo) and thus has to be preserved (idealy) everywhere, so this is quite an issue... Sorry for the lengthy post, thanks for the answers in advance... Andi

Full Time Rails project
I''ve been working on this rails app for 3 months now, and it there is still quite of bit of work to do. My problem is I''m leaving for japan in two months, and I''m afraid I''m not gonna be able to be full time on this. I''d like to find someone, idealy in Vancouver BC, that would take on the project as a full time job. My client really need someone fulltime to be her technical guy, doing mostly development using rails and helping her figuring technical things. I would stay available to help the new guy getting used to the software and even from J...

Application Database RFC
...lace to enter a url to a bug report if applicable Applications could be scored based as a percentage. Applications that use all critera would need all 22 points to get a 100% rating. For other applications some of these criteria are not applicable and their score would use a lower base score. Idealy we would be able to look at the AppDB and list all programs that have problems with any of the criteria Probably the most usefull aspect of this is that it gives users and developers a real way of measuring how well wine really is doing and where problems that affect the most programs are. I h...

[GlobalISel][MIPS] Legality and instruction combining
...G_SELECT %4(s1), %2, %3 On mips 32, integer compare uses i32 as result and that result is zero extended. For G_SELECT, we will select instructions that check whether "test register" was zero or not (selected instructions are movz or movn). Test register has size 32, having that in mind, idealy, legalizer should produce     %4:_(s32) = G_ICMP intpred(sgt), %0(s32), %1     %5:_(s32) = G_SELECT %4(s32), %2, %3 after combining all extends and truncs. Currently, it is not possible to widen test register (type 1) in G_SELECT and we could end up with telling legalizer that test argument is l...

VT-x and frontend/backend drivers
Hello, As I saw in this mailing list, there should be some emulation solution for drivers when using VT-x processors. See for example : http://lists.xensource.com/archives/html/xen-devel/2005-12/msg00763.html My question is this; As I understand, the VMX support in the new VT-x processors enables us to prevent Guest OSs from performing unwanted instructions (HLT , for example).
