Re: [Ocfs2-tools-devel] Patch for debugfs.ocfs2 ``icheck'' command
http://oss.oracle.com/~smushran/debugfs.ocfs2-icheck-04a.patch The comments have been inlined in the patch. Summary; 1. Follow Tao's recommendation for checking against known holes. The check for the first cluster group can be done before hand, and for the remaining, it can be done as part of the group descriptor check. 2. It should allow user...

What uses these 50 GB?
...). But echo "testb 1 117330000" | sudo debugfs /dev/sdc | grep "marked in use" has delivered 102595007 lines (containing block numbers marked as "used"). I tried to learn more about blocks marked as "marked in use" but not by a known file, and echo "icheck 98304 98305" | sudo debugfs /dev/sdc returned debugfs: icheck 98304 98305 Block Inode number 98304 <block not found> 98305 <block not found> Could somebody explain to be what the purpose of these 11,656,064 blocks is that don't belong to an inode but are still marked...

Re: What uses these 50 GB?
...ndard mount option, perhaps there are other tweaks you've made at mkfs time which could change the geometry from what I see above. dumpe2fs -h output might show us that. It could also be open but unlinked files, or unprocessed orphan inodes after a crash. Have you run e2fsck? > debugfs: icheck 98304 98305 > Block Inode number > 98304 <block not found> > 98305 <block not found> icheck won't find an inode number for internal metadata; it's not associated with any inode. > Do I have a chance other than reformatting the drive to get back this > spa...

Bad directories appearing in ext3 after upgrade 2.4.16 -> 2.4.18+cvs
Hi, I recently upgraded one of my fileservers from 2.4.16 to 2.4.18 plus the ext3-cvs.patch that Andrew Morton pointed me to for addressing and assertion failure. Since then I have been getting lots of errors like: May 21 14:07:03 glass kernel: EXT3-fs error (device md(9,0)): ext3_add_entry: bad entry in directory #2945366: rec_len %% 4 != 0 - offset=0, inode=1886221359, rec_len=24927,

E2fsprogs 1.42 is released!
...g which caused resize2fs to fail when shrinking an empty file system down to its minimal size. (Addresses Sourceforge Bug #3404051) Fixed tune2fs's mount options parsing. (Addresses Debian Bug: #641667) Allow tune2fs to remove external journals if the device can not be found. Debugfs's icheck will now correctly find inodes which use the searched-for block as an extended attribute block. Debugfs now has a new "punch" command which remove blocks from the middle of an inode. Debugfs now has a new "e2freefrag" command which analyzes the free space fragmentation of the...
