Pre-emptive strike for OSX users re problem ichatting rails projects around
Hi:
I have the good fortune to program with my girlfriend. I iChatted
her a project this morning and it would not run on her machine. After
a rather lengthy investigative process we found that if I zipped the
file then emailed it, she could decompress it and run it. If I
ichatted it to her, it would not run.
We don''t yet know the exact reason bu...

iChat voice (and maybe video?)
Hi Dudes,
i searched for some time for an answer for this, i found some posting from John Todd half a decade ago [1], was there some chance in this? Is it somehow possible to voip from ichat to asterisk? If there's no light, is this something that could happen with enough founding, or is "Mapple" preventing this somehow (legal or technical)...?
Regards,
Andreas

Hi Guys
does anyone have a ''working'' macosx vmware instance ? i.e. you have
the networking working ok so you can use ichat.
would love to use macosx and textmate for RoR development but I dont
fancy parting with > $US1,500 for a new Mac that is half the speed,
one quarter the RAM and a fraction of the HD of my current PC.

Asterisk Voicemail that reacts to my AIM status
I hacked together a system, using an AGI script written in PHP, that
looks up my AOL Instant Messenger (or in my case iChat) status, and, if
I'm online, plays a different voicemail message (i.e. "Peter's here")
than if I'm offline (i.e. "Sorry, Peter's not here").

SER is a better NAT solution?
...only with Asterisk.
I'm wondering however, most of my clients are behind NAT of home router and using SER together with Asterisk sounds better solution.
Is there significant difference between SER and Asterisk, for handling SIP phones behind NAT?

Asterisk 1.2.0-beta1 Released
The first beta of Asterisk 1.2.0 has been released! It is available from
the ftp.digium.com FTP servers, as well as the Digium CVS servers (under
the 'v1-2-0-beta1' tag).
This version of Asterisk represents a significant improvement in
features, stability and compatibility over the 1.0.x releases. Some of
the major new (or upgraded) features include:

Oops, forgot to release 0.23.3
Hi all,
It was brought to my attention that the front page lists 0.23.3 as the
stable release, but that no such release exists.
I could have sworn I released this a few weeks ago, but now I can find
no evidence of that.
I''m going to publish it from the latest commit in the 0.23.x branch as
soon as possible (probably in about 12 hours), so if anyone wants to

Some applications does not work
Hi all,
I found that some applications does not work more. The last successfull version was 20050310.
For testing I can propose one example : http://hem.bredband.net/alivor/ichat121b6.exe
Now I try to use wine 0.9.1 under FreeBSD (KDE 3.4.0).
The application above is installed fine but during start I see:

(SPI_SETFOREGROUNDLOCKTIMEOUT)
I switch to application window:
