Multiple ICES background daemons
Is there anyway to run multiple ices backgroud deamons and have more than
one ices.pid file generated so that I can control each one seperately? I
want to have mulitple ices streams running with different playlists and
different stream names and control them using the signals.
I start one ices process and it writes a file ices.pid to the /tmp
directory and I can control it sy sending it

Dynamic playlist support
Hello everyone,
Just curious if ices supports dynamic playlists... I would like to
generate one on the fly based on user requests etc. I'm startnig to go
through icedj's source code to see how they use shout.
I'd just use that, but I'm having trouble with shout.
Thanks,
Sujal

playlist script
...play 7 songs of type
1 then 7 songs of type 2 etc.
Also some songs should get a higher frequency in the playlist then say a
98 classic.
and finally some way of intergrating it with a web request system, and
having the ability to play a station ID file every 5 songs etc.
We are currently using icedj, but this is shout based and a bit on the
unstable side, and the scripts I have seen for ices so far don't have
nearly as much functionality, streamcast etc which use libshout, while
having the web request system and a neet telnet interface don't allow us
to have timed programs etc.

running a radio station
Hello,
I successfully have installed icecast server and can stream content using
lame and libshout. However I can not find iceplay anywhere and it seems to
be unavailable on the icecast site. I for whatever reason can not get icedj
to work (only works with shout and not ices anyway). So I was wondering
what other solutions there were to run an icecast radio station so anyone
can listen to streams and get information on what streams are playing and
also make stream requests.
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks
Adam

iceplay available anymore ?
All,
I need a good radio station solution for icecast. It seems iceplay is a
good solution but I got it out of CVS and seems to be quite old.
Anybody know of a good radio station solution to manage streams and
requests and all that (already tried iceDJ , it does not support ices, and
is a pain in the neck to work with).
Thanks a bunch.
Adam

I've spent the rest of the day fighting with icedj, and finally gave
up. Either it needs a custom version of shout, or I really did configure
it wrong!
I've had a bit of trouble locating some of the other tools mentioned
briefly (hampered by the lack of search facility on the mailing list
archives). What are people using in general to fe...

I don't know why there's lots of problems lately. I assume some small
libc implementation changed that icecast must have depended on. I ran
icecast on 4
