Icecast2yp updates / testing
I've been in playing with the icecast2yp code a little, besides getting in on one of the next meetings about it all. I'm just looking to have a few of you out there add some of your servers to use the in-progress one I have going here. http://yp.systemrage.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi Depending on my upcoming workload, hopefully I can put...

...s accept. If your talking about a icecast2-yellowpages-procotol-docu: I had the same impression that there is no current docu available and wrote one. But as soon as I releaed it via mailinglist somebody pointed me to a "hidden" document by Oddsock. It's at: http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/spec.html Don't no why there is no link to it somewhere. Maybe because it's "not finished" yet. But I personally rate it quite helpful. Maybe it helps you also. I hope so :) I'm not too good with C or anything like that, so the sourcecode would probably be a bit confusing.

Guide on icecast2-yellowpages - Version 0.1
Hi everybody, ince some people on this list have asked for further details on how to implement your own scripts for running a yellowpages-directory with icecast2 I've written a small guide on it (please see the textfile attached to this email). At the moment, surely, this is just an initial release. But hopefully it can serve as a basis for a documentation project on the icecast2-

New YP listing code in icecast2
I have just committed this code to CVS, and here is more information about it for those interested : - the spec that I went off of for the protocol can be found here -> http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/spec.html - since icecast2 now needs to potentially connect out to yp servers for communication, libcurl has been added as a dependency...I used curl 7.9.8... - I also have currently implemented a yp server running at http://www.oddsock.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi. This follows the protocol I defined abo...

Directory Listings
The default configuration file for icecast comes with a directory listing for oddsock, but not icecast.org or any others. How do I set up the xml file to list me on icecast.org. And on a related note, what other directorys can I list the server on? --thanks Michael Edwards http://www.walledcity.ca <p>--- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage:

web stats and now playing
Hi once again, Does anyone have any info on getting such information into a website? If I can get the "now playing" raw info that would be great. Also, does anyone know of a directory server for icecast? I checked freshmeat but couldn't find what I was looking for. Icecast2 log and yp behaviour
...ht (not ideal!) Has anyone managed to do this a better way? Secondly, and I've already mentioned this in my post to the vorbis list (so apologies for the double posting). Has anyone got ices2 and icecast2 to post information to a yp server. I can't get it to work and http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/test/FAQ suggests that it shouldn't at least at the moment. Anyone know for certain? ...en disappears a few minutes later. I'm > sure Dave will fix it eventually but he is away for the week. We're getting the same problem at Virgin Radio. We're using very recent builds of ices2 and icecast2 (i.e. less than a week old). Our entry reliably updates in the www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/ directory but doesn't reliably appear in the yp.icecast.net directory. As Ross says, sometimes it appears for a short time after a restart. My error log is full of entries like: INFO yp/yp_submit_url Successfull ACK from yp_touch (http://www.oddsock.org/cgi-bin/yp-cgi) but there is no equival...

Hi All, Maybe a strange question, is there any info or maybe even an template for setting up an yp directory! The idea to set one up for local purpuses like: espescially dutch languages would be nice! Maybe an extra setting in the stream clients to also give in the language and maybe even country of orgin of the content could be any help with that, could be a nice extra search option too for

...y to my test yp-cgi....for those not running win32 (yeah, I know, most people :) ) you'll have to wait until the code gets committed to CVS, but before that happens, testing needs to be done....If you want to write your own YP server, I've started on a spec here : http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/spec.html.... and the YP front end (the thing that actually shows the listings) can be viewed here : http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/ That's where you'd look to see your server listed.... please let me know if you have any questions/issues/whatever.... oddsock At 02:09 AM 1/12/2003...

Hi: Assuming you're using icecast2, you can get stats and "now playing" information using XSL. There are a couple of examples shipped with icecast2. As for YP servers, there is one at http://www.oddsock.org/icecast2yp/ and another at http://yp.icecast.net.
