The I_need_the_Kernel_Source wiki article should have instructions to do the procedure as non-root. Installing the source as root may not be as dangerous as compiling something, but nevertheless it is not recommended and is not consistent with the contents of other related articles. Akemi

I have a driver that requires installing the kernel sources (into my own rpmbuild tree, not the system) prior to compiling. Dear Laurentiu, Agree with Johnny for kernel upgrade if upgrade helps, alternative if 3.10 or above already supported it, you can check from kernel parameter or options if they are disabled on purpose.
