CentOS 4 - i2o_block - Adaptec RAID
...I wanted to see if there was any new information. I have MANY Intel servers (SR1200, SR1300, etc.) that are using the Adaptec 2010S, 2100S, 2110S and 2120S SCSI RAID Controllers. They are currently running CentOS3.4 and everything works great. From what I know, these cards should be able to use the i2o_block driver which is part of the kernel, but it doesn''t seem to work in CentOS4. The installer can''t find any drives. I''ve looked through the upstream''s e-mail lists and found a couple of references that talk about manually adding the i2o_block driver as a device, but...

AMD 64 - I20/ I20_blocks
I'm trying to install either 32-bit or 64 bit centos 4.3 and I keep getting an error: "No valid devices were found on which to install filesystems". In checking BIOS and RAID, everything seems fine, but I just found some research about I20. An alternative would be the i2o_blocks module. How can I install CentOS 4.3 x86_64 using i2o_blocks? How do I instruct the boot prompt to find this driver and get me past the above error? Even in 32-bit I still get this error as well. -karl

module kernel for adaptec 2110s in CenOS 4.2
Hi. I''ve used ghost for change the ide disk for an array of scsi in raid using an adaptec controller 2110s. Now when I boot it didn''t boot correctly. Looking for in Internet (http://kbase.redhat.com/faq/FAQ_46_4969.shtm) I guest that I have to rebuild the initial ramdisk to contain the proper kernel modules for the adaptec controller. But what is the kernel module for

HP NetServer LC2000r and LH6000r install woes
...http://tldp.org/HOWTO/HP-HOWTO/hp-hardware.html#AEN792 these fixes have made the megaraid driver stop complaining about IRQ conflicts or routing errors. 2) i have tried switching each NetRAID controller from I20 to "Mass Storage" mode; no change. 3) i have tried manually adding the i2o_block driver; no change. has anyone encountered similar problems with this hardware? better yet, has anyone resolved them? any other ideas? do i need to do anything to the logical volumes on the NetRAIDs other than create and initialize them? i'm currently downloading the full CentOS install...

Module loading order during install
Is there a way in a kickstart install to affect the order in which modules get loaded? I want to load 3w-xxxx before 3w-9xxx so that my OS mirror drives take their proper place as sda and sdb, but centos-4 wants to load 3x-9xxx first, making my (unbootable) big arrays the first two drives. In this configuration, it seems that even trying to install grub to /dev/sdc fails. Ideas? Thanks.

kickstart - how do I specify I20_block driver
Hi, I have alot of kickstart and scripting going on as I provision lots of machines, and every now and then I run into a pesky machine or three that's still got that Adeptec zero-channel RAID card sitting on the board. Normally I like to rip it our and throw something more robust in, but if it's a cache machine or whatever, I leave it in. It makes my kickstart file useless until I
