[PATCH] virtio: console: Enable call to hvc_remove() on console port remove
...port led to
another virtconsole port freezing.
Upon testing it again, this now works, so enable it.
In addition, a bug was found in qemu wherein removing a port of one type
caused the guest output from another port to stop working. I doubt it
was just this bug that caused it (since disabling the hvc_remove() call
did allow other ports to continue working), but since it's all solved
now, we're fine with hot-unplugging of virtconsole ports.

[PATCH 00/10] (v5) virtio: console: Fixes, new way of discovering ports
...out the disable multiport patches.
This series reworks the ABI to allow port discovery (only) via the
control queue.
In addition, it adds support for non-blocking write() support, which
means no spinning. This works fine with the recent patches that are on
qemu-devel.
Also included is removal of hvc_remove() as removing one such console
port causes other console ports (registered with hvc) to stall. This
has to be debugged in the hvc_console.c file, I'll do that later, but
we have a nice workaround for this: returning -EPIPE on any hvc
operations will make the hvc console core perform any cleanup...

[rfc/patch] use hvc for xen console
Hi,
Here is a patch (on top of the paravirt patch queue) which makes xen
guests use the hvc_console.c infrastructure for the console, thereby
greatly reducing the amount console code. xvc0 is gone too, hvc0 is
used instead.
cheers,
Gerd
