CDU load problems with testing
Hi I just upgraded my system to xen-3.0-testing, hoping it would solve my problems with the virtual network interfaceses (I cannot connect between two domains) and memory usage (I sometime "miss" a few hundret megabytes). The update didn''t help on the networking issues, but it did on memory usage. However, I created a new problem: using htop, the cpu is used at 50% in both

working with big blocks of msn's
...terisk Server with a Diva Server PRI E1-30M. Capi, asterisk, etc. everythink works. my problem is the handling of the MSN's. say, we have the block (without area-code..) 4321-0 to 4321-4999 between this numbers (including em) every MSN is possible. do I have to add all MSN's i need (several hundrets) to the capi.conf? then the routing to SIP-Phones shall be based on the MSN-Configuration. means, if someone dials 4321-1000 the call shall go to SIP/boss and 4321-1001 to SIP/secretary and so on. is this "just" by adding an exten => 1000,1,Dial(SIP/boss) to the context set in the /...

Sweave and Xemacs on Windows2000?
Hallo! Trying to configure Xemacs to work with .snw files on windows 2000. Tried to do it how it is described in the FAQ for Sweaves. When starting xemacs with and Snw file *ESS* buffer contains hundrets of lines and the few last ones. (ess-loop-timeout . 500000) (inferior-ess-primary-prompt . ^) (inferior-ess-secondary-prompt . ^) (comint-use-prompt-regexp-instead-of-fields . t) (inferior-ess-start-file) (inferior-ess-start-args . inferior-SAS-args-temp) (ess-local-process-name)) And no syntax...

Dovecots pop3-UIDL command impl. not RFC compliant ?
...---------------------------------- Currently I'm tracking down a nasty problem with Outlook 2003 together with dovecot acting as pop3 server. Multile pop3 accounts, with 'leave mail on server' on. (cant turn it off) for no apparent reason, a couple of mails (just a few out of thousands/hundrets) get re-downloaded again, and again, and again ... as if client had not seen it before. Might be a client problem ... while trying to find out the reason for this behaviour if found this UIDL thing. I fear it might not be the true reason/problem for my problems with outlook redownloading certian m...

move mail from server with v1.0 to server w. v2.1?
I'm about to replace my old server. Both servers are on my internal network. The old one ist running debian lenny(32bit) with dovecot 1.0.15 and the new one debian Wheezy with dovecot 2.1.7. I set up the users on both systems identically (same gid uid). My first attempt was tho simply rsync the Maildirs along with the homes. Both deovecot versions are set up with the maildir format, but this

Brainstorming - how to manage Shorewall rules
Shorewall (IP Tables frontend - www.shorewall.net) has been kind of a headache in trying to move forward with puppet - we just haven''t found a clean way to manage the "rules" file. With that in mind - would it be possible to create a "shorewall_rule" type? The rules file is a simple file with space/tab delimited fields: (I can provide a detailed explanation of each

Problem/bug with smooth.spline and all.knots=T
...th the attached data, I get this error-message: Error in smooth.spline(tmpSec, tmpT, all.knots = T) : smoothing parameter value too small If I do smooth.spline(tmpSec[-single arbitrary number], tmpT[-single arbitrary number], all.knots=T) it works! I just don't see it. It works for hundrets other datasets, but not for this one. Would be glad if anyone could help! Hubertus

SPF Record questions
I am inquiring about how to setup a proper SPF record. I know there are SPF wizards/generators available but each seem to have a different "opinion" of what should be included and what should not be included. Let me give you a scenario of my setup, and hopefully someone can help me out. My domain is: test.com My mailserver hostname is: mail.host.com which also has a MATCHING PTR

...le vm's accessing the > network through a single physcial nic. > > This is an ADDC and file server for a small office so numbers of users > will be below 50. Any recommendations? for below 50 users don't worry any second about virtualization, we have a whole infrastrcuture for hundrets of domains and all sort of services (database, fileserver, webserver, mailserver, spamfirewall, dhcp, dns, voip, fax) on a single server with a identical one as failover the only thing you need take care of is the storage performance and even that is in real life faster in case of virtualizatio...

index file vs. memory
Hello, we have a large base of mailbox users and while pop3-connections are usually closed after the download of all mails, I noticed hundrets of imap-connections kept idle by the users. This is surely according to the idea behind imap, but I'm a bit afraid of overwhelming memory consumption if there are too many imap-connections opened at the same time. Is the index file kept in memory as long as an imap-connection exists, or is...

Request for iproute2/shorewall engineer
Dear Sirs, I try to setup a quite complex routing scenario with iproute2, shorewall, bonding and hundrets of vlans as well as a lot of different virtual routing tables. In the past it was often possible to get great support directly by shorewall list but since the routing becomes more complex I do see a need to have a brief consulting by an experienced engineer. Shorewall list recommended me to pos...

( I have hundrets of DDBBs)... I''ve been reading the type code but I do not understand if I can still use some simpler syntax as before... Anyone using the module knows how to write it? hardware sizing and configuration
Understanding that a samba 4.x ADDC should be run on a an os separate than a samba 4. file server, I was thinking of virtualizing both. Is it common to have a single physcial server with two VM's running samba? If some is there a recommendation on how much hardware to start with and how much virtual hardware to give each VM. I'm wondering about virtual nics and if there may be a

If dspam fails, the mail is dumped, the LDA returns exit code 75, and the MTA will probably issue a bounce Email to the sender.
