nodejs based website
Hello, I am trying to setup a node.js based website called 'hummingbird'. It's a monitoring package that you can read about here: http://projects.nuttnet.net/hummingbird/ My question is when I hit the site all I see is a directory listing http://107.21.183.42/hummingbird/ Similar to what would happen if you went to a php site without php being configured...

NET_SAMLOGON issue
...at. - I can log on as a domain user in both Win2K and WinXP==->Roaming users work Ok. Note: smb.conf is given as attachment So i would say a 'common LDAP Samba 3 setup' is up and running. But now i need to go a bit further. I'm trying to have a third party Windows software (called HummingBird DM - that's a proprietary electronic document management System) to authenticate it's users using the Samba PDC. It's supposed to run with Windows NT4 SP4 or later as domain controller, so... I suppose it should run with Samba 3. (Tell me if i'm wrong :-)). HummmingBird DM uses a...

Stripping/Prevent CRLF
...g a file to a samba share. (Such as doing an ascii ftp) Now I cannot find where I read this. I have a constant need to transfer excel files containing data to be uploaded and want to use samba to get these to the server. Can this be configured into Samba. I am using 2.0.6 on Solaris 2.6. When using Hummingbird NFS, the files will copy correctly, however, we have decided to use Samba for free. Any suggestions, Thanks a bunch, Chuck -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chuck Carson Sr. UNIX Admin / Oracle DBA chuck@phi.org Public Health Institute...

Assistance
We are getting ready to implement Windows 2000 to approximately 800 users who need to access HP and Sun UNIX servers. We looked at Microsoft's Services for Unix and didn't like it. Hummingbird's NFS Maestro was too expensive. One of our departments (40 users) has been using SAMBA for about a year now. However, I am required to find out where we can obtain support and to see if I can speak with existing companies with approximately 1,000 users who have been using SAMBA. I looked at...

Re: Still trying to backup 66 GB from LINUX to W2K
Both "rexec.exe" and "rsh.exe" from W2K have the problem. However, the "rsh.exe" from Hummingbird's Exceed package works just fine. I copied it into my cygWin's /usr/bin directory and did cd /cygdrive/c/temp time rsh p92 "cd /local;tar cbf 64 - SAS" | dd of=here.tar and the file is OK. It tars out all the files in SAS directory. Unfortunately cygWin's "ls -l&...

Reverse Mapping
...he shares on the Unix server. However, what I have a need for is to be able to map the other direction. Basically, need to sit at my PC at my desk, far from the server, load a CD into the CD-ROM drive of the PC and have it work as if the CD-ROM drive is actually a device on the Unix server. Using Hummingbird Exceed as my X-Term solution to the Unix server. Does this work with Samba? Has anyone ever found this solution or do you have any thoughts as to why it might not be a good idea to implement? Thanks, Jeff Grant Unix Sys Admin EDS Herndon, VA

X11 font at size 6 could not be loaded
...I do xlsfonts, I see that I have fonts that match, but the smallest seem to be 11 points: -adobe-helvetica-bold-o-normal--11-80-100-100-p-60-iso10646-1 -adobe-helvetica-bold-o-normal--11-80-100-100-p-60-iso8859-1 If I run the same program on my Fedora 8 system but use an X server on a Windows PC (Hummingbird X server), I have no problem. If I can't fix this, this is a disaster for me because some of the most common things I do are afflicted by this problem. Can anyone help me get adobe-helvetica 6 and 8 point fonts onto my system or give any other advice? Thanks very much. -Ben p.s., I also tri...

Hi, I have the following problem: I have two computers. On the first RedHat 6.2 (Openssh 2.1.1) is installed. The second is an PC with Windows NT 4.0 (SP 6) with Cygwin and Openssh 2.1.1p4. The X-Server running on the WinNT machine is Hummingbird Exceed 6.1 . I have activated X11-Forwarding in the config-files on both machines. I'm sitting in front of the WinNT machine and want to do a XSession on the RedHat machine. solutions we have evaluated are NFS clients that can be installed on Windows, in order to access data from UNIX server through NFS. The 2 solutions we have evaluated are Hummingbird NFS Maestro and Intergraph Disk Access (also available through MS Services For UNIX). We are not recommending the use of Samba based solutions : you report a data corruption issue at <COMPANY X>; I have been on my side reported data corruption issue at <COMPANY Y> with Samba based s...

Group mapping, among other problems
Hopefully I can write this out so someone understands it. We are currently running a number of Solaris servers, to which windows computers need to connect. Currently they connect via NFS using hummingbird's NFS client. This requires them to have a separate unix account along with their windows account. Our idea is to implement samba 3.0.0 to eliminate that NFS client. My current problems are: #1, when I mount my share (in either windows or unix using smbclient), I am not getting the proper...

Ah, I'm using Exceed Hummingbird 7.1 as the X server.... It does have fixed width fonts, and it is happy with variable width fonts up to this extreme .... A little more fiddling shows that this succeds with a linux based X11 server, and that even plot(1,1) par(family="mono",cex=8) text(1,1,"foo") segfa...
