deprecate pdb_ldap and "NT4-like" domains in Samba 4.13 to allow removal for Samba 4.14 in March 2021?
With all the recent talk about ldap stacks, I wondered if we could
discuss deprecating and eventually removing pdb_ldap?
The reason is that pdb_ldap is primary user of smbldap. smbldap is in
turn yet another of our ldap stacks (I have found four so far), in the
sense that while it uses OpenLDAP under the hood, it replicates with
libads, ldb and tldap the 'get AD-thing out of an LDAP

Data corruption during resilver operation

This is that last thing and apparently the result of a series of steps
I''ve taken to increase a zpool mirrors size.
There was quite a lot of huffing and puffing with the sata controller
that holds this mirror but the short version is:
zpool z3 created as mirror on 2 older 200gb SATAI disks. On an
adaptec 1205sa PCI controller.
After deciding I wanted increase the size of this pool, I detached 1
disk, then pulled it out. I replaced it with a...

Advice for dated archives
...rsynced to the new one. So
I have a clean break with no duplication.
Something similar to the `newer' option to find command would be nice.
So that one day I could just tell rsync to move stuff to the new
archive but not if its older than DATE.
Any ideas how to accomplish this with the least huffing and puffing?
I did try some experiments with --compare-dest=DIR but didn't really
see how to accomplish the above goal with that.

freeRADIUS + krb5 + samba + AD
Hi,
We are using freeRADIUS 1.1.6. + samba 3.0.1 + krb5-1.3.2 talk to active-directory(win2k3).
Followed by: http://wiki.freeradius.org/FreeRADIUS_Active_Directory_Integration_HOWTO
Now it can work.
But there are multiple domains in active-directory.
Can samba or krb5 support mutiple domains?
How to configure krb5.conf and smb.conf can let it support multiple domains?

Winbind 3.0.26a cannot authenticate with ActiveDirectory
I am using Ubuntu Gutsy, which comes with Winbind 3.0.26a. I am using the
same configuration that worked on Ubuntu Feisty, which uses Winbind 3.0.24.
Something changed with Winbind, apparently, to break the configuration that
was working perfectly. How can I fix my configuration to work with the new
version?
The symptoms are as follows:
wbinfo -t works
wbinfo can retrieve a list of users

No offense, Segher, but the output quality of this thing is awful. =)
I'll disregard the fact that, at least with *my* compiler, the source
tarball I downloaded reduces every packet to zero bytes, which isn't
terribly interesting.
I decided to set the byte reduction to something constant: I started
by dividing each packet's size by 2 just to see what would happen.
The resulting ogg

[PATCH server] Cloud UI V1 (readonly).
This patch creates the shell for much of what the cloud ui will
become. It is focused on layout (lightly fedora themed), accessibility,
and 'bookmarkability'. This layout uses no javascript (that will be
used to enhance interactivity in a future patch). It also introduces
the idea of using a simple table rather than the more conplex js/json
we use in the admin side. Plan here is to
