Windows XP and domain logon
Hello,
I have installed samba 3.0.2a as PDC and BDC, I am able to add windows xp to domain and have added all the registry patches to windows xp, but when it comes to domain logon on windows xp client, the behaviour is very erratic, sometimes I am able to logon to domain and sometimes the domain logon fails, we need to restart the xp machine and keep trying to the domain logon. The error we

Kerberos authentication problems
I appear to be having a problem with samba using kerberos to
authenticate to a win2k pdc.
Background: Windows 2kSP4 PDC. WhiteBox Enterprise Linux 3 running
2.4.21-4.ELsmp on x86.
samba 3.0.2-6.3E.i386 from the distribution's rpm.

Testing "dark" SSL sites
So, with all the hubbub around POODLE and ssl, we're preparing a new load
balancer using HAProxy.
So we have a set of unit tests written using PHPUnit, having trouble
validating certificates. How do you test/validate an SSL cert for a prototype
"foo.com" server if it's not actually active at the IP...

trouble getting started (on a mac)
Hi-
I picked up "Agile Web Development with Rails" a little while ago
after getting excited by all the hubbub surrounding the 1.0 release.
I started working my way through it and have run into a few problems
that I''d love to know if anyone has any suggestions about.
I''m using my Powerbook, running OS X 10.4.3. I installed the latest
version of Locomotive and downloaded the Rails 1.0 Ma...

winbind problems
Hello,
I am running a Samba server (3.0.7) on a Suse 9.2 box. I have connected this server successfully to a Windows 2000 Active Directory (mixed mode). I have nsswitch.conf, krb5.conf configured and winbind seems to be running properly for the most part. With wbinfo I can get all of my user and group information. Problem is, it seems that at random times, the samba server just stops

Urgent Speed Issues.
Hi guys, Sorry for what is most likely been asked before.
We have just finished setting up a samba server using Suse 9.0 and samba
3.0.2a.
All seems to have worked well (I've been using samba for some time now) but
I seem to be having issues with speed. Especially during file permissions
queries from windows 2k and actual file transfers.
My config is extremely simple, modifying only that

Unusual Crashes in winbind
So far we have been working well for a week now. We are using Samba 3.02a on
suse 9. Authentication is against an win3k AD. Apart from a Kerberos ticket
expiring, (a croned restart fixes this) we have one new problem
We found we needed an additional AD server as the primary begun to fail on a
regular basis. So we added one. Now this new server grabs the authentication
requests before the old one
