Asterisk 1.4.30 & T38
Hello list, I read on voip-info.org that Asterisk 1.4 support T38 passthrough. So I guess this means that I can have a Grandstream HT503 with T38 support and an analogue faxmachine on the other side of my Asterisk and a T38-account with a ITSP on the other side of my Asterisk machine, right ?! The fax coming from the faxmachine passes the HT503 to my Asterisk and my Asterisk sends the fax to the ITSP which places it on the PSTN....

One way audio with Grandstream HT503
Hello list ! I'm having one way audio on incoming and outgoing calls. Outgoing audio works fine, incoming audio is not working. My setup is the following : incoming calls : PSTN -- FXOport -- HT503 -- WANport -- Asterisk -- WANport -- HT503 (the same) -- FXSport -- DECTphone outgoing calls : DECTphone -- FXSport -- HT503 -- WAN-port -- Asterisk -- internet (VoIPprovider) I've done a TCPdump on the Asterisk-server : 18:20:21.189504 IP vds.server.net.11574 > my.asterisk.server.be.2005...

Congestion outbound only with ATA boxes
...ternet but it could not call out. It could not call out to the Link2VoIP or any of the SIP phones. I spent a lot of time going over the configureation for this Asterisk server and the settings in the Linksys PAP2T box but could not get it to work. I removed the Linksys PAP2T and replaced it with an HT503 because I read a lot of good recommendations for this device. It seems to have almost the same problem. I say almost because when the Linksys would get congestion I would hear the Asterisk recording tell me "All circuits are busy now, good-bye" but the HT503 only gets a busy tone. All th...

Voice/Fax Modem advice
Folks A have a PCIe modem (Conexant ChipSet, PCI id = 14f1:2f83. It interfaces to my land-line (POTS) telephone line in the United States. On Windows, I had a good answering machine package (Ventafax) that reported CallerID, recorded messages, sent/received fax, and had a scripting language that let me say "To leave a message for Alice, press 1; to leave a message for Bob, press

There is many tutorial over the HT503 and Asterisk in the wild! A SPA122 ATA from Cisco might be useful as a gateway, they are cheap. You?d be using it kinda in reverse, but I don?t see why that shouldn?t be possible. Other than that, specialized cards have come down in prices, probably because ppl aren?t using them anymore. You mig...

ATA FXO
I'm looking for a reliable ATA FXO/FXS adapter. Linksys 3102 - a lot of echo problem + two of them died within a year (not reliable) Sangoma USBFXO - problem installing drive in Gentoo. I've tried two Chines units: AG-188N and YGW30B none are of them have real FXO port that will register with Asterisk. Any other recommendations; (I don't like internal cards). -- Joseph

Codec negotiation issue (no audio format found to offer)
Running build 1.8.5.0 (compiled from source) I seem to be having an issue with codec negotiation. I have a Grandstream HT503 FXO port connected to a pstn line, a Polycom SP501, and a SIP trunk with callwithus. What I'm essentially looking to accomplish is for ulaw or g729 (preferably ulaw) to be used to the Grandstream FXO or any other internal endpoint, and for g729 only to be used outbound to my SIP trunk. Here a...

How to enable T.38 between SPA3102 PSTN Line port and ReceiveFAX app ?
Hello, I've got an analog phone which is currently receiving unsollicited FAX calls from PSTN. For learning purpose, I'm preparing an Asterisk/SPA3102 setup that would let voice calls come in and out and translate incoming FAX calls to TIF files (forwarded through email)). My target setup is : PSTN <-- analog--> SPA3102 Line Port <-- SIP --> Asterisk <-- SIP -->

New Asterisk build
If you are really wanting to build something on Raspberry Pi or similar ARM platform, you could also take a look at Elastix for ARM. http://www.elastix.com/en/downloads/ Elastix is a fully integrated platform, and includes the majority of necessary components in one installation. The new Raspberry Pi 2 platform may be perfect for your needs in this respect, although based on your load, the B+
