Hello, I have Samba 2.2.5 installed with winbind. on an HPUX 11 server. I am using Domain security using a W2K PDC. I have successfully joined the domain, and wbinfo commands (-t -u -g ) all come back with good data. The problem is I can not get pwgetent to run. It always says not found. Actually it really never was answered, but here's how I fixed (worked around) it. At first I thought installing patch PHNE_27796 (libnss_dns DNS backend patch) had fixed it. It didn't. It just flip-flopped the problem. Prior to installing that patch, ssh would never go to DNS no matter what was in nsswitch.conf. It appeared to only look in /etc/hosts. I'm currently running version 2.0.7 of samba(CIFS9000). I have HPUX 11.x installed on the samba server. When I try to run this from inetd it doesn't work. I can run a startup script that runs the smbd as a daemon and it works fine. But if I try to run it from inetd it won't start.
