ext3 on debian-HPPA Linux?
Right now I'm building a 2.4.17 kernel on an HPPA Linux system. The
kernel it ships with supports ext2 only. Has anybody tried ext3 on HPPA?

hppa, powerpcspe: call for klibc/mksh testers
...1) depending on it and trying
to use klibc for /bin/mksh-static, complete with testsuite that
is run by the buildd (unless DEB_BUILD_OPTS contains nocheck).
Please, please build and test these klibc and mksh versions on
as new a sid environment as you can get (I could probably ask
for access to an hppa lenny chroot, but? ugh!) and see whether
it?ll work for you ? klibc on sh4, for example, was broken and
nobody noticed it until I ssh?d to a porterbox (there seem to
not exist any for hppa and powerpcspe) to fix an FTBFS, wanted
to test the result and saw SIGILL (then downloaded the last

Install problems R 1.3.1 on HP-UX (PR#1084)
Hi,
I installed R 1.3.1 on HP-UX. This caused me quite some
problems. These problems did not occur with the previous version
I installed, which was R version 1.2.3.
First, the result of configure:

pread and pwrite syscalls fix for 32bit arches, patch attached
Source: klibc
Version: 2.0.2
Severity: important
Tags: Patch
On the hppa arch (32bit userspace and 32 or 64bit kernel), the fstype program fails to detect the filesystem.
The reason for this failure is, that fstype calls the pread() syscall, which has on some architectures with 32bit userspace a different calling syntax.
I noticed this bug on hppa, but I assume s390 (32...

Does anybody runs R on the hp ML 370 or ML570 servers?
Dear all.
I am trying to buy a hp server to run R and to complete some other tasks
with limited bugets. The r-project.org site recommended that R will run on
hppa-hp-hpux. However this system is out of our buget and ML system from hp
is much cheaper. Is there anybody running R on ML370 or ML 570 systems? If
you can provide me with some other information related that will be
appreciated.
Thanks,
Aiguo

Exec file incompatible with hardware
Sorry if this is going to be one of those 'idiot' questions, but I don't
use Samba. It has always been on our server, chugging along beautifully
so no on ever had to touch it... Well, we consolidated servers and moved
everything to another server with HP-UX 10.20 (the previous server had
the same HPUX version so I thought I was in the clear), the samba
version is samba-1.9.18p2. I
