Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi,
I just installed a CentOS 7 + KDE desktop in my office's network. So
far, I'm quite happy with the results, though I have some trouble
getting the printer to work. All the other machines in my office
(server, desktops, workstation) are running Slackware64 14.1 or 14.2,
and they can all use the printer perfectly.
I installed hplip-gui and ran it. The printer is a network printer, it

Trouble setting up HP Officejet Pro 8600 printer on CentOS 7 + KDE
Hi Niki
don't you need a hplip addon/plugin, which you can fetch from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/install/index.html
There, with the wizard, you get a file hplip-3.x.x.run
which you download and run using
bash hplip-3.x.x.run
This will install the addon/plugin.

Recent HPLIP: where's that doc?
Hi,
The HPLIP package included in CentOS 5 is one of those packages that
lags almost pathologically behind. Now I remember having seen some
*official* (HP) documentation describing the procedure to follow to
install the *latest* HPLIP on CentOS 5. As far as I can remember, there
were even some RHEL5 RPMS on that site.
But I can't seem to find that page anymore. Anyone remembers it?

(solved) HP C4580 printer x86_64
...ies) connected to my router to work
with 64 bit 5.3.
That printer needs at least hplip 2.8.10 which I found at
http://rpm.pbone.net/index.php3/stat/4/idpl/12086038/com/hplip-2.8.10-0.1.el5.test.x86_64.rpm.html
It was just a matter of following the manual install instructions for
hplip here http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/install/manual/distros/redhatenterprise.html
and then getting the necessary dependencies.
In the end it worked with (this is for the last line of step 3 in HP's
instuctions)
rpm -Uvh ./hplip-2.8.10-0.1.el5.test.x86_64.rpm
./python-imaging-1.1.6-2.el5.rf.x86_64.rpm

Issue with HP Officejet 6500 on CentOS 5.5
I just picked one of these up to replace my 4315, which broke (I think
the feeder roller gear broke from an overstuffed feeder), but it's
giving me problems.
I had no trouble configuring it to print, but it doesn't appear in
lsusb and xsane can't find it, so I can't scan with it, which is the
main reason I bought it in the first place.
I've tried restarting the autofs service

CUPS driver for an HP LJ M602?
We just got two of these HP LJ M602 "enterprise" printers in, and I'm
trying to work out what driver/ppd. The model's not listed in the current
- does anyone know what might work for it? I really don't want to have to
install hplips on 140 or 150 systems....

Can't add printer
I tried to add the printer:
HP Color LaserJet CP4020 Series Printer?
but CentOS 7 must not know what driver to use.
I was able to add a brother 7050 printer (with an HP compatible driver??)
Is there a way to get a driver for the hp cp4020?
I googled for centos and this hp printer and looked on the hp driver site, but didn't find any info.
Thanks,

CentOS 5.4 x86_64 and HPLIP-3.9.12
I recently purchased a HP Officejet Pro 8500 (A909a) and it's ethernet
attached. It's been configured and works perfectly from WinXP, Win Vista,
Windows 7, and Fedora 11 x86_64. However, on my machine running CentOS 5.4
x86_64 I can't get the configuration to work so that it prints duplex
(2-sided). The HP Setup appears to be working from the command line, but
