Printing with samba2.0.7
Hi all, I've just install samba2.0.7 on server Tru64. We have one printer HP5Si and others HP4 on the network. Using Samba from our Win95 customer we can print correctly to HP4 but to our HP5si we have the file wanted and one blank page and one page indicated "@PJL RDYMSG DISPLAY=" " ". So we want to suppress these pages. Is there anyone who can help me ?

Printing an extra blank page all the time.
...s a print server for the first time, and it works ok, but I have this problem where everytime I print anything, a additional blank page comes out of the printer at the end of what was just printed. It's an old HP Laserjet 4 connected to the parallel port of the samba server. /etc/printcap lp|HP4|HP Laserjet 4:\ :sh:lp=/dev/lpt0:sd=/var/spool/output:lf=/var/log/lpd-errs: smb.conf [global] printing = bsd load printers = yes disable spoolss = yes [printers] path = /tmp printable = yes public = yes writable = no use client driver = no Any ideas.... Thanks, Craig

Certain apps - no printers
...n, all but a couple of the Windows apps I've installed print to the local printer perfectly. However, there are a couple other apps that can't seem to find a printer at all. Going to the print dialog, the 'select printer' field is blank. On the apps that are working, my trusty HP4 is listed there and accessible. Aside from the missing printer, all other aspects of these apps seems fine. Why a few apps see the printer and others don't is what's baffling me. Is there something I'm missing in the app's default config that would make the printer show up? Certai...

Page printing problem
I'm having a problem printing from a W2K client to an HP4 Plus printer connected to a FreeBSD 4.5 server. Using lpd from either the server or other clients on the network prints correctly. The printer also works fine when connected directly to the W2K client. Anything I print from the W2K client with more than one page, prints all pages on one piece...

Kyocera 680 KX and driver uploads failing - anybody have success?
...me thing, driver not there, do you want to upload, to which I do 'no' and go and look in the advanced tab and it's there in the drop down list. Basically, to cut a long story short, Kyocera drivers obviously suck and do something weird. I got around the problem by using a standard HP4 driver because these kyocera's don't do PS. Still it would be nice to have the right driver for that printer. Anybody come across this before? Thanks all, Matthew

'point-and-print' general questions
I have gotten 'point-and-print' working, but there are a couple small issues/questions I am trying to get my grasp around: - rpcclient print-1201 -U root%secret -c 'enumdrivers' this lists the drivers twice (I saw one other post about this, without any followup) - When adding drivers via the Windows APW, after uploading the drivers and the APW closing - are you supposed to

Win2K Printer Driver Problems - Hi Jerry!!
Nope, close but no cigar. With 2.2.6Pre2 Word started to behave itself but Outlook acts as though landscape is a foreign concept(i.e everything prints portrait regardless of page setup). Spoolsv also crashes on the Win2K workstations requiring a manual restart of the spooler service. We will downgrade to 2.2.5 and try Jerry's patch. In another message Jerry talks about "running"
