another printing question
I have got the printing working with CUPS finally on all of my printer.
Took a while but they are printing with no errors. What they are not doing
is feeding back the print status, and not all of them are consistent. I
have a HP2000C that gives me a failed to open retrying error in the W2k
printers window. I have a minolta d350 that always comes back blank, even
though there are maybe 50 jobs printing. I have a HP 4000N that does the
same thing as the minolta. My system is RH7.3, cups 1.1.15 (the print
queues are set up as r...

extra page printing
I have found another printing problem on my print server. The printer is an
HP2000C. Printing using cups. The print queue is set up as a RAW printer.
It should be just pass through. I am using the same print driver as on the
Novell that works fine. The problem is before each print job a single page
gets printed with a %! at the top of the page and nothing else. This
problem do...

installing printer in a logon script
Hello,
I have Samba 3 PDC and win2k sp4 client.
I would like to install printer on a machine globally, for all users.
To do this, I use:
net use X: \\server\unattended /user:domain\unattended password
rundll32 printui.dll,PrintUIEntry /q /y /ga /in /n \\server\HP2000C
First line is mounting share (Administrator is not logged to the
domain), and the second line is to install printer.
Printer drivers are placed in /var/lib/samba/drivers/W32X86/HP2000C
Unfortunately, this doesn't work so well: win2k complains that server,
on which the printer is installe...

Fwd: Unable to change to the specified driver
Never got a response to this, so I will simplify the question.
Has anyone ever gotten the HP 2500c Printer Driver to auto-install using a
Samba Print Server??
Thanks
Josh

Hi,
I have installed succesfully 5 different remote printers on my samba
server, but
I have been working on the installation of the Printer HP2000c
for 3 weeks...
and still it is not working.
I deleted the *tdb and start again from the beginning:
If I do network neighbourhood, samba server, printer folder, hp2000c
properties I saw "no driver available..."
I did "add new driver", (not so easy to understand
the way to do it f...

Hi,
I'm using a reasonably recent Samba-2.2. from CVS nut am having
problems with print drivers.
I used imprints to create local packages for an HP2000C, HP8970Cxi and
HPLJ5m (postscript). I then use inmprints to install them on to the samba
server.
All seems to work and the drivers are stored into the printer share in the
W32X86 directory.
I then try and add a printer from the Win2K Pro machine, and the only one
that works is the HPLJ5m, both th...
