fastcgi
I spent time searching web trying to get information on how to get Rails
working under Apache+fastcgi. All I found was people saying that they
can''t make it work or some obscure instructions on how to compile this
and that. Does anything stable similar to XAMPP exists for Ruby on
Rails? If not, people should be warned upfront that they won''t be able
to use Ruby on Rail in

Installation-Problem
Hi!
I just got wine011023 (a striped tgz binary-archive), unpacked it into
my home-dir and exported the library-path as mentioned in the
HOWTOINSTALL-file.
Obviously the config-file format seems to have changed, so the
wine-howto was useless for configuration.
I tried to generate a config-file ("config") with the "wineconf"-script
(from the tool-directioy) and placed it in ~/.wine/
I'm now able to start wine without any...

Questions on musiconhold.conf custom mode
Hello,
I need to play some musiconhold content starting at a random duration
from the start.
Thanks to mode=custom option and either madplay or mpg123 programs, I
could successfully get what I was after on a Debian Wheezy system.
Now I realized sox version on my target system (Debian Squeeze) cannot
convert to MP3 format.
So I'm looking after workarounds.

Shaping per IP in PPPoE borrowing or sharing Uplink or Downlink
helo again. I think this question i am asking is worth:
we know that pppoe-server creates a pppX device on each connection done
to it.
So, when i have to shape, i have to shape each pppX connection device on
itself alone.
What i know is that the borrowing method on one device by itself, e.g.
ppp0, alone using HTB or the like. this means that i have to create for
another device, e.g. ppp1,

Newbe Rails question on Apache.
Hello,
I am new to Rails, like totally new. I am not new to application development
having near 10 years experience with data mining and store front development
with various Java web severs.
I see a ton of power in Rails but I am slightly put off by what looks like a
difficulty when running Rails apps under Apache. So I am posting a few
prelimenary questions of getting Rails apps going

some notes about rails, apache, fastcgi and windows
hello.
i''d like to share some feelings of mine after a couple of *weeks*
intermittent attempts to have rails applications working on windows
(XP) with fastcgi performances under apache (2.0).
i''d say the software stack i''m using now will be fairly common as more
and more new rails developers will join the bandwagon.
what is stunning me is the fact that, even if
