Can't share my secondary HD (Ubuntu to Windows)
...y hard drive, I could just put all the hard drive's content into that one folder. But I was not successful. I should mention that the secondary hard drive has been formated with NTFS, since it was an external hard drive. Second I tried this: I used Gedit and edited Samba, See here: http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/ubunt...s-using-samba/ Still the same problem. I'm really a Noobee at any kind of Networking, even Windows. I would appreciate any help. If I'm able to share my secondary hard drive I would add my two other external to this system and tuck it way just let it do it's magic wit...

This I'll patch now and see what happens. I'm going to go onto the ipxe cha...

The rest of the AV field I have no basis for evaluating. MicroSoft's SE has sort of dropped out of the AV race. To discard... or not to discard...
Hi, I just recently read a post about SSD triming (discard vs fstrim): ?http://www.howtogeek.com/176978/ubuntu-doesnt-trim-ssds-by-default-why-not-and-how-to-enable-it-yourself/So far I used discard on all my SSDs. Now I am wondering if it is really worth it to switch them all to a crontabed fstrim... Anyone made the switch yet? Thx, JD

I'm following https://www.howtogeek.com/177621/the-beginners-guide-to-iptables-the-linux-firewall/ because GoDaddy has not published any documents on this (other then use cPanel, which I don't have access to). [3.6.6] nmbd reachable on 0.0.0.0: Safe?
Hello I'm running Samba 3.6.6 on a Linux host on a LAN connected to the Net, with my ADSL modem acting as firewall/router so as to keep local services like Samba unaccessible from the Net. Still, I wanted to check if it's safe to have nmbd reachable from 0.0.0.0 on UDP137/138: ~# netstat -tunlp Active Internet connections (only servers) Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address

About Tinn-R

Netfilter fails to filter traffic from a netblock?
Hi Everyone, We rent a CentOS 7 VM from GoDaddy. We received a warning about excessive cpu usage, and a threat to cancel our service. We tracked it down to Apache and someone hammering our web server. The offending host is 59.64.129.175. To err on the side of caution we attempted to block the entire netblock. According to whois data, that's 59.64.128.0-59.64.159.255. iptables -A INPUT

Re: libvirt beginner needs to create and start VMs entirely on command line
Try some of these combinations: http://www.howtogeek.com/119293/4-ways-to-recover-from-a-crashed-or-frozen-x-server-on-linux/ The good thing is your vm is up and running. You should try SSHing into it if that works. On Fri, Jul 10, 2015 at 1:37 PM, KARR, DAVID <dk068x@att.com> wrote: > I’m confused. You’re asking if I’m able to connect...

Re: libvirt beginner needs to create and start VMs entirely on command line
I’m confused. You’re asking if I’m able to connect with VNC in response to my comment that I’m unable to connect with VNC? What I see when I open the viewer on the port is a window titled “<username> X desktop”, with a grey background, an “X” cursor, and an error dialog (with an “okay” prompt) saying what I described before. Ctrl-Alt-F1 and similar keys do nothing. From: Jeff Tchang
