Sensible, Manageable, CentOS puppetmaster?
...d to
manage everything else is so hard to manage itself (package-wise), so
I''m assuming I''ve missed something obvious... obviously there is a
choice 4 - just build it all from source - but that feels dirty,
especially on the puppet server!
Thanks in advance for any illumination,
Howie

Change one file, and they all get sent!
Hi,
Just starting out with rsync, and I think I might be missing a
fundamental point of how it works.
Scenario:
I start an rsync daemon on host A, and define a module 'test' on the
rsyncd.conf file. 'test' is essentially my home directory on host A
I then sign on to host B and issue
rsync --progress --recursive --links --stats arthur::test/ /var/tmp/haggis
This copies

Can't see more than 8 files? MTU-ish issue?
...creens at both ends, for what it's worth. I've had a google around,
and I can't see anything related to packet size or MTUs, which is what
it smells like to me... (presumably the 9th filename ends up in a second
packet, or a certain sized response).
Thanks in advance for any pointers,
Howie

Trying the configuration in nano.txt
Hi!
(I sent other mails some time ago, about not-using the Julian''s patches).
When I try the configuration from Nano.txt, having the Julian''s
patches applied, only the first ''hop'' of the routing table "222" is
used (according to tables shown in Nano.txt).
I saw that this question was asked some time ago, with no answer.
Maybe someone can tell me the

Using Java bindings to event callback

I think most drivers don't support that. We have a custom driver for

long startup times for large file systems
Howdy,
Rsync has been churning away for 45 mins, presumably bulding an in-core
list of files to be copied to the destination. This is a very very large
filesystem we are copying locally - approximately 4.2million files
(WebCT). The resident process size for rsync has grown to 72Mb. - is
this normal behaviour for a file system this size, and does rsync have
the ability to handle such a large

"Registering" a node with a central service?
...ent with a
central server. Is there a standard way to do this, short of having some
kind of web service accessible from all the client systems? From my limited
Puppet knowledge, anything I add into the manifest for a node runs on that
node, doesn''t it?
Thanks in advance for any pointers,
Howie

Installation problem - No X interface
Hi
I've installed the "R" system under Solaris 8 on a SunFire V880. I
configured it using the "--with-x" option. Installation seemed to go
fine, but when I start R with the X-Windows GUI option,
R --gui=X11
I just get put into the command-line mode.
Any ideas what I'm missing?
Thanks

Sieve > Pigeonhole > external storage with LDAP or other data source available to dovecot
...is, suggesting that limits should be set, or the use may have to
be restricted to global scripts eg: sieve_before or sieve_after
The question:
- do others on this list see value in the functionality described above?
If there's some consensus that this would be useful, I'll flesh out howI
think a generalized version of this old patch may behave, then (!) work
on an implementation as a plugin to dovecot's sieve.
