Using qemu+ssh on openSUSE 13.1/Tumbleweed
...my user to the libvirt group and set auth_unix_rw = "none" in /etc/libvirt/libvirtd.conf. I am now able to see all my VMs using virsh list --all (I had to set a default_uri in .config/libvirt/libvirt.conf to get any non-empty output). Trying from another machine (say target hostname is HOSTX, username testuser) with virsh -c qemu+ssh://testusers@HOSTX/system always results in >> error: failed to connect to the hypervisor error: internal error: >> received hangup / error event on socket I see this in /var/log/messages (lines will be wrapped in the mail, sorry): > 2014-03...

guest management: 1 and only 1 instance
Gang, ???? I run several KVM host machines.? Due to updates, maintenance, and unexpected reboots sometime host machines are restarted.? I can easily envision a scenario where HostX needs some critical packages updated or is acting up.? I migrate guest0, guest1, guest2 etc. from HostX to HostY.? Then, in either a planned (i.e. scheduled maintenance) or unplanned (i.e. unplanned reboot) event reboots HostX. Unfortunately guest0, guest1 and guest2 are all set to autostart on Ho...

X11-Forwarding for Reliant UNIX (formerly SINIX)
...ocal communication for X under Reliant UNIX is done via the named pipe /tmp/.X11-unix/Xn where n is the display number. Every other OS I have worked on uses a socket for this. 3. All standard X-applications try to determine whether they are running locally, i.e. if the DISPLAY on computer HOSTX is HOSTX:10.0 the X-applications detect that this is the local computer and try to open the named pipe mentioned above. If I change the DISPLAY to be "IP-Address-of-HOSTX":10.0 than X-forwarding works fine ! 4. The main reason I want to use X11-Forwarding is a special application...

Sending packet from hostX to hostY via hostY
It's not. In fact it's explicitly telling you that it's *not* forwarding. CentOS 5.3 host not seeing storage device
Maybe one of you has experienced something like this before. I have a host running CentOS5.3, x86_64 version with the standard qla2xxx driver. Both ports are recognized and show output in dmesg but they never find my storage device: qla2xxx 0000:07:00.1: LIP reset occured (f700). qla2xxx 0000:07:00.1: LIP occured (f700). qla2xxx 0000:07:00.1: LIP reset occured (f7f7). qla2xxx 0000:07:00.0: LOOP

HBA port
Hi, I have a host which is connected to SAN via single Fibre channel HBA (qlogic). I have several LUNS assigned to this (sdc, sdd). I added another single port HBA to this host. I can now see two world wide names. Now the confusion is which world wide name does sdc and sdd is/was using. scsi_id -g -u -s /block/sdc only gives wwid but I need the wwn for sdc and sdd. Thanks Paras.

revoking ssh-cert.pub with serial revokes also younger certs
Hi Daminan! Hmmm... thought about a little... when i use -vvv with ssh-keygen -Qf i see "debug1:..." So i think, debug is compiled in. ssh-keygen --help gives me ssh-keygen -k -f krl_file [-u] [-s ca_public] [-z version_number] file ... so... option -z is not the serial of the certificate, it is the version-number of the KRL-File... My openssh-Verision from Debian is

Is -R --link-dest really hard to use, or is it me?
I've got a problem for which the combination of -R and --link-dest doesn't seem to be quite enough---and I may have discovered a few small bugs as well; test cases are below. [And if someone has a scheme for doing this that doesn't involve rsync at all, but works okay, I'm all ears as well---I'm not the first with this problem.] Here's my problem: I unfortunately need to
