AIC7901 RAID320 with CENTOS4 not recognized
An INTEL Server motherboard model SE7501BR2 with an onboard Adaptec
AIC7901 controller (with HostRAID) is not being recognized by CENTOS
4.
The AIC79xx driver loads correctly, however it does not "see" the fact
that I used the HostRAID onboard software to create a RAID 1 set.
I went to the INTEL site and only found a driver for RHEL 3.0 and I
was unable to find a driver on the adaptec si...

Supermicro Adaptec AIC-9410 HostRAID controller
...raid.
2) When using this internal host raid controller, shouldn't the raided
devices appear as a single device like other traditional scsi controllers?
Regardless of the raid options I choose, Linux still continues to see
both drives (/dev/sda and /dev/sdb). Is this a function of being
'HostRAID'?
3) If you've been able to get it to work, which driver did you use?
Thus far, I've tried 2 drivers.
1st driver: adpahci -- Unsuccessful
I downloaded it from supermicro's website.

Samba backup and restore with LDAP
Hi
I have a problem with a production server (Acer Altos G5350) SLE9 SP3 with Samba 3.0.20b-3.4). It provides shares for about 15 Windows workstations. I purchased it with an Adaptec Hostraid a320 controller (using two 146mb Seatgate drives mirrored with Hostraid) but slowly realising that getting up tod ate kernel supported drivers for these cards is near impossible. When I installed SLE9 it used the default AIC79xx driver which I believe is only rated at 160 and not 320 and although t...

The driver for this card is the aic79xx.o and I see that it is compiled

Does anyone have any idea what is happening and how I might get Xen
installed?

Adaptec Host Raid
Hi All,
I need to install CentOS 4.0 x86_64 using Adaptec ASC-29320A with HostRAID
enabled, but it seems my card isn't recognized. I've tried to install the
hardware using driver downloaded for RHEL 4.0 from the Adaptec Website, but
still it's unrecognized.
P.S. I'm able to install RedHat 9.0 using this card before.
Is there anyone have any solution for this?...

CentOS 4.2 and Adaptect 1210SA
Adaptec 1210SA with a RAID 0
Intel 815 based mobo
512mb ram
During the install, Disk Druid or whatever the partition utility is,
sees the first disk but says the other disk is not initialized and
only reports 150MB when the array is 300MB. How do I get the CentOS
installer to see the RAID 0 array correctly?

CentOS 5 x86_64 install does not see SATA drives
hi.
I am having some problems installing CentOS 5.2 x86_64 onto a
Supermicro 6015V-T with Intel 5000V chipset and ESB2 controller using
SATA drives. Currently I am running CentOS 4.7 i386 and it sees both
drives but when I boot into the CentOS 5 install CD it fails to see
the drives. Does anybody have any tips for getting the drives visible?
Kind regards,
Dougal

Add. Sense: Logical unit not ready, initializing command required
Hello everyone!
What does following error mean, I am getting this in /var/log/messages
repeatedly, this morning my server (IBM eServer x226) was unable to boot
and when it booted its giving following errors. I have RAID 1 (Adaptec
HOSTRAID) setup on this server. How to fix this? "fdisk -l /dev/sdb"
does not give me any output. Yesterday I had power failure (UPS failure)
and server shutdown abruptly.

CentOS on Fujitsu Hardware
Alle,
I was wondering if anyone is using 4.X on any Fujitsu Primergy hardware
and what type of experience they've had. I know that FJ provides
separate drivers for all the supported hardware that are supposed to be
RHEL4.X compatible, but I have my doubts.

Camron

Stuck in geli
Rarely, a geli partition I have freezes a process in bufwait state. It
occurs after an ATA timeout message:
Aug 5 03:47:13 thor kernel: ad10: TIMEOUT - WRITE_DMA retrying (1 retry left) LBA=219028637
The geli partition resides on an Intel MatrixRAID RAID1 mirror using the
ICH9R chipset (Asus P5K-E/WIFI). Killing (even -9) the process does not
work. Rebooting is the only solution, yet the

CentOS and Marvell SAS/SATA drivers
Hello all,
I've been on a real roller coaster ride getting a large virtual host up
and running. One troublesome thing I've discovered (the hard way) is
that the drivers for Marvell SAS/SATA chips still have a few problems.
After Googling around quite a bit, I see a significant number of others
have had similar issues, especially evident in the Ubuntu forums but
also for a few

Software RAID complete drives or individual partitions
I have been reading about software raid. I configured my first software raid system about a month ago.
I have 4 500 Gig drives configured in RAID 5 configuration with a total of 1.5TB.
Currently I configured the complete individual drivers as software raid, then created a /dev/md0 with the drives
I then created a /file_storage partition on /dev/md0.
I created my /boot / and swap partitions on
