t.38 virtual fax software?
Can anyone recommend some kind of virtual t.38 fax software? I'd like to test/debug some of the t.38 stuff, but it'd be much easier if I had a software client that could just generate the faxes from a workstation, rather than having to sit with the fax machine + t.38 ata to source faxes from. There doesn't seem to be much out there, and the stuff that's out there is kind of

A way to check against a list of numbers?
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to handle this? For example, if I have a list of numbers that I want to go out a certain sip channel and another that I want to go out the dahdi device, is there a way to do this? None of the numbers will fit into a pattern, so just plain pattern matching won't do. The most straightforward way would be to just define explicit patterns. Obviously that

Tru64 UNIX SIA in 2.5.2p1 is hosed
Something really hosed Digital/Tru64 UNIX SIA support in 2.5.2p1. I haven't been able to figure out what changed in the code, but the symptom seems to be that the TTY name being registered with SIA is truncated to eight characters. This apparently prevents it from matching with entries in the tty database, and the...

Hosed installation
Hello, I seem to have hosed my installation while trying to replace a failed brick. The instructions for replacing the brick with a different host name/IP on the Gluster site are no longer available so I used the instructions from the Redhat Storage class that I attended last week, which assumed the replacement had the same...

Hello, My installation of clamav is hosed up. It won't start due to a malformed database. I ran freshclam and updated the database but still have the problem. I was going to uninstall clamav but there are other app dependencies. Virtualmin is one. How can I do an uninstall/re-install without hosing more stuff up? I have...

3.x box - lilo - hosed bootloader
Hi Updated the firmware on a PERC RAID card as it was out of date and causing a monitoring error - Everything went fine but on the reboot the box now tells me it cant find a valid boot device - I am thinking maybe somehow the boot block on the logical disk is shot. Can anyone advise me on how to rebuild the bootloader on lilo using a rescue CD? thanks

CallerID hosed
This is with an x100p (the motorola chipset) Two problems. Looks like CALLERIDNAME is being used uninitialized. On my other phones the callerid is fine and my buttset shows that the callerid passes the checksum. This is the relevant portion of extensions.conf exten => s,1,Answer exten => s,2,SetCallerID(H ${CALLERIDNAME} <${CALLERIDNUM}>) exten => s,2,Dial(${MGCP_ALL}) Here is

Transfer feature dialing out after one digit
Because some users have requested transfer beep confirmations I've switched our phones over to using the asterisk transfer feature instead of the built in transfer functions of the phones. While testing it was working fine, but I changed something in features.conf and suddenly any time I hit transfer (*2), I can only enter one digit before asterisk immediately tries to dial that extension.

URGENT: libdvdcss install hosed /var [SOLVED]
I found it - there has to be a /var/lib/nfs directory with a few subdirectories under it. Once I had created them all, I could run rpc.statd, and that unfroze everything. Thanks to all, esp. Bill for mentioning rpc - that was the clue for me. mhr

Winbind seems to have hosed my roaming profiles
Winbind seems to have broke my roaming profiles. I have a 3.0.1Pre1 DC on RH AS 3.0 running with Win2000 SP4 clients logging in. Remote profiles worked well and then I added: winbind separator = + idmap uid = 10000-20000 winbind gid = 10000-20000 winbind enum users = yes winbind enum groups = yes template homedir = /home/win2000/%D/%U template shell = /bin/bash Added it to nsswitch.conf and

ldapsam_compat backend hosed in v3.0.2
Hi all, In an attempt to get the old v2.2 Samba behaviour to work, I tried to enable the ldapsam_compat mode in passwd backend. Win2k cannot connect, username and password not accepted. The LDAP logs reveal that Samba is trying to make the following search: (&(&(uid=minfrin)(objectClass=sambaSamAccount))(objectClass=sambaAccount)) This search returns users who have both the old v2.2

xorg updates hose GUI with Nvidia driver
Just a heads up that once again an xorg update has removed the link in /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions that points to libglx.so.325.15 in /usr/lib64/xorg/modules/extensions/nvidia thus breaking X. This should only effect those with nvidia proprietary driver. One of the following packages is the culprit but I have not tried to narrow it down. I have done updates and downgrades several
